Atomic bomb dropped on DC
OMG. Dems changed senate rules so they could actually get something done.
The horror!!! http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...day/?hpt=hp_t1 :winkwink: |
Congress has failed us. They work for the people, not their parties. There shouldn't be any discussion about bipartisanship; All of Congress should be bipartisan.
The Republicans are pissed. They allowed a massive recession to take place on their watch, and a fucking Democrat came and fixed it. Instead of working with the White House to make improvements, the are doing nothing but blocking everything. This is reflected in their approval rating, which is the worst it's ever been in my lifetime. I'm not a fan of Hillary, but if she runs everyone will get their panties in a bunch and the Democratic party will look like "new and progressive, forward thinking" and the GOP will become further entrenched in the "old white men" reputation. The Republican party has become a joke. I thought putting Bidden in as VP was a joke, but that was nothing compared to Palin. |

to me. just as bad as the repub addiction to negativism is the news media. Hyping this rule change like the constitution was trashed or something. The filibuster is not in the constitution. its just a rule, & it got abused by hyperpartisanship.
Rather than calling it a nuclear option, they should call it unclogging the toilet. |
This didnt pass yet, has it? I hope it does.

Dont the republicans call everything the "Nuclear Option", govt shutdown, debt ceiling, etc. They are useless tards getting rich and doing nothing. Not that dems are much better but at least they have some agenda, all the right wing wants to do is stop the blackman from doing anything.
|
It's called the "Nuclear Option" because they all actually oppose doing it.
Pres. Obama opposed it when he was a Senator and the Dems were in the minority. Harry Reid opposed it. Now the Republicans oppose it (the same ones who were FOR it a few years ago when they were in the majority). Total and complete hypocrisy on both "sides". But you guys just go ahead and keep voting Republican and Democrat. I'm sure that one day they will "change" and start doing the right thing by the American people. LOL! |
OP got my hopes up.. I was hoping there was a real nuclear bomb dropped on DC..
|
LOL, Obama supports anything that generates news that's not about Obamacare, Fast and Furious, NSA spying, IRS targeting and Bengazi.

:Oh crap |
I don't like this at all for the simple reason that the courts will become even more activist in nature. Both to the Left and the Right depending who has control. The filibuster at the very least made the appointees more to the center of each side.

can somebody translate to me about what they vote?

What a let down this thread is...I actually was hoping when I saw the headline that an actual atomic bomb had indeed been dropped on the shithole!

I really hope the Repubs change it back if they get control of the Senate in 14. They of course won't, as all politicians are complete hypocrites.

And besides, this is big news. And its not "obama supporting it because it generates news", it's the news agencies jumping on board because it IS big news. And besides, once again it is the fucking republicans fault : http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...uclear-option/ It will be a great day when crybaby do-nothing Boehner gets his gavel shoved up his ass as he is kicked out of the house. |
this filibuster thing is the greatest joke in politics anyways

only beaten by Fidel Castro and his speeches that went on for hours

The only people willing to endure campaigns are not actual leaders. they are camera friendly narcissists who lie effortlessly. its no wonder the private sector is prospering & the public sector is going bankrupt. |

The only way for this to end is for the leaders to actually lead and stop the crap, but right now it is the leaders that are creating these issues not solving them. |

Well, Obamacare is a law. Fast and Furious wasn't started by Obama. The NSA spying isn't really spying on Americans. The IRS was doing it's freaking job. And I still don't understand what you are bitching about with Bengazi - it was a terrorist attack. You keep trying to make mountains out of molehills while ignoring what your party is doing - investing all of it's time crying like little children. The Republican party needs to stop looking back at it's past mistakes and figure out a direction forward or it's going to loose the White House again. And this time to a woman. |

Delaying anything will screw up the roll out, the dems need that for the mid terms, if not, things are going to change in the landscape. Look at it this way, Barry promised that the stimulus was to improve the unemployment numbers, they haven't. 21 million people are still unemployed, that's 14.6% of the US workforce. Only half of those people are getting unemployment. Barry made his whole presidency about healthcare, he made healthcare completely a democrat law. I think this has done more to separate the parties than anything. People want universal healthcare, how many people think Obamacare is Universal Healthcare? It fails because it doesn't cover everyone, makes those that don't need it to pay for those that do need it. Talk to any doctor in the US and you will find no one is looking forward to it with the exception of those going on medicaid and the insurance companies. |

Pure hypocrisy.
First here is Senator Obama DEFENDING the filibuster and AGAINST the nuclear option while the Republicans were the majority party: And here is Senator Harry Reid when the Republicans were in power DEFENDING the filibuster and AGAINST the nuclear option: |

The democrats respected the results of elections, and let Bush bore out the government agencies he didn't like by appointing lobbyists from the industries they regulated. |

It's a fact that whichever party is in power usually wants the "nuclear option" and the minority does not. As for Dems "respecting the elections"? Bullshit. They fought tooth and nail with Bush. Difference is, Bush was good at working with them and getting them to negotiate. Obama hasn't shown that ability. He has been "my way or the highway" and it has resulted in a nightmare. Remember? When Bush became president in 2000, the Democrats were outright proclaiming that he "stole" the election from Gore. LOTS of bad feelings. But Bush reached out. For better or worse (I believe worse), Bush used his LEADERSHIP skills to get the Dems to bend. Clinton did the same thing with the Republicans. Reagan did the same thing with the Democrats. And most Presidents in history were leaders and worked with the opposition. Obama has not. And the excuse by the Obama-Maniacs is that all the Republicans from top to bottom are....RACISTS. And so is anybody that questions Obama in any way, shape, or form. I believe that the Democrats are going to regret this. Because sooner or later, the Republicans will one day be the majority party again. And when that happens...and the Dems are the minority party, they will learn what it's like to have ZERO say in governing. With no filibuster, it means that the minority party loses it's power. But don't take my word on it...listen to Obama and Reid's OWN words when they were the minority party. They are hypocrites. |

And no, Republicans created the separation. Mitch McConnell, Senator from Kentucky and Turtle-face prick, set out to ruin Obama, try to make him a 1-term president. He and his fellow racists have blocked everything Obama has tried to do and refused to work with him on everything. Quote:

:helpme PS - making those that dont need it pay for those that do? Thats the business model of the health insurance company - the healthy customers pay for the sick ones within the insurance pool. Thing is...the insurance company maximizes profit by minimizing expenses, AKA cancelling the coverage of the sickest people. This basic economic fact is why i personally support a single payer system. I far prefer a hilary crony over gordon gekko making decisions on my health care financing. i am unhappy with obamacare simply because it keeps gordon gekko insurance companies in business, & worse, still able to price gouge but now "taxpayer subsidies" cover that cost. absurd. |

Obama would've and should have been a one term president. This guy fits the description of a politician perfectly..How do you know when a politician is lieing? When his lips are moving. President transparent.:disgust |
