eesh, those air dryers are disgusting. they take every germ floating around in a public bathroom and accelerate them onto your hands.

There is no point washing your hand when the door to get out all ways pulls inwards.

I hold onto the paper towel ( so long as there are some and it's not just the air dryers), and use the paper towel to pull the handle. Once the door is open, I can usually toss the towel in the trash from the doorway.

They were invented im sure to save paper, but I am also pretty sure they use up more electricity in coal burning that makes using paper more nature friendly. SO I guess they are only ok if you live where they can be powered by nuclear, or clean energy sources.

this is what i do as well, also, if someone is coming in, i'll skank out using their open door, without having to touch anything. if it's a bit off, i can use the edge of my shoe to catch the door.

what i haven't figured out how to handle is the public bathroom key on a stick. eesh, that thing has to be disgusting. argh.
