Fortunately I will not be effected by the coming crash as I have neither dollars or bitcoins to worry about!

I have bitcoins and im still making bitcoins from ads on sites. I havent sold just yet but it wont make me millions cause I dont have enough but it will sure give me a pretty little cash bonus :)

I have a ton more litecoins and feathercoins than bitcoins though so if they go the same way as bitcoins in a few years time then I will be a very happy bunny :)

The total number of bitcoin possible is capped at 21 million (currently theres about 12 million)

The idiots who claim bitcoin will be the worlds new currency are dillusional.

There are over 7 billion people in the world right now.

With a maximum of 21 million bitcoin in circulation, that's 0.003 bitcoin per person... 1 bitcoin to be shared with 333 people!!

Well... I guess they'll just have to take a leaf outa ol' Benny's book, and do a bit of Bitcoin QE to make this scam work.

Money made out of thin air. We have seen this over and over and over, in the last 200 years of human history. And the end was always the same...

lyno 12-02-2013 05:37 AM

I agree that BTC is not really suitable as world currency, but if your really see that point as a problem:

in that case Onecoin might blow your mind (there never will be more than 1 ONC) :1orglaugh

By the way, you know why fiat money is called so? A little hint: "Fiat lux" :upsidedow

This is not really the problem. BIT are usually split by X.00000000
Just move the DOT anywhere you like, like a forward stock split.

I thought that at first but it's wrong to think that way, you can trade, buy and sell with fractions of BTC. If 1 BTC became worth a million dollars, yes the number of people that could actually own 1 whole BTC would be very limited but you don't need to own a whole BTC at that level for it to be a viable currency. I don't need to own a million dollar bill to be able to spend $2 in Macdonalds.

You have no clue !
They can alway rename 0.001 bitcoin to bits and voila there is 2,1 billion coins or 0.0000001 the dot doesnt mean anything. And bitcoins aren't created out of thin air, they need to be harvested. It is actually a deflating currency which is quite new. Compared to Euro and dollars that are all Inflating and printed if they come short.

Based on what is that boat long gone?

Ppl would never believe that they would hit 1000 dollar last month if you asked them a year ago. i think it can become worth alot more then this, i mean ALOT!
If you have money you don't need to spend i would put it on bitcoins

I'm just getting into this cryptocoinage. I looked at BTC when it was $67 and thought no, looks a bit high, because I remember when it was $10 !!!!
Anyway another question, I see a whole raft of other coins, if BTC was the first, has the greatest traction and stands by far the best chance of actually working long term, aren't all these other coins really just "pure speculation" jumping on the bandwagon ?

PS. Vixen now accepts BTC if any ladies of the night want buy premium advertising.

I agree that the BTC has most change of becoming the biggest at this moment, but some coins do have advantages over BTC (faster transactions, cheaper transaction, security etc..)which might be a reason to beat BTC but is very unlikely at this time. Also i think there is room for more then one currency in a world with 7 billion people.

Adultlexicon 12-02-2013 07:02 PM

Also a common mistake is that BITCOINs are anonymous, they're not, every single transaction is logged in every wallet on every computer.

Penny24Seven 12-02-2013 07:44 PM

Just buy litecoins and hope they do what bitcoins have done. I spent over 9K on litecoins when they were 2 dollars and change and if they were to reach 1000 bucks I would not be here to tell you about it haha

rowan 12-02-2013 08:39 PM

Probably a bit too late for 'easy' speculation since the price seems to be stabilising.

If you have a bot that can automatically trade or at least alert you to buy-low-sell-high opportunities, you can still make $.

Reason why some people are not speculating is because buying those coins are not convenient + costs extra money, like +10% or whatever. There is no quick/convenient way to buy them without much extra cost. At least that what many people complain on another webmaster forum I frequent.
For example I want to buy 100 litecoins at current price, wait till it grows +10% and scalp quick profit. Its not possible to do so because of process being slow and because that +10% profit would be eaten by various fund uploading and withdrawing fees.

https://www.localbitcoins.com/

Buy via bank account or cash. It's a market place, not a single company, so if you have sufficient buyers/sellers in your area (or servicing your country/region) they will be competing with each other for your business.

Dutch people can buy Bitcoins at https://bitonic.nl/ for a fair price and with IDEAL, then you can start trading them at BTC-e.com.

Adultlexicon 12-03-2013 06:36 AM

Current price at Bitonic is 786,68 euro per BTC and the rate at BTC-E is 785.19 EUR

think thats pretty good

I mean in the short term, like the past week, it has been more stable. Meaning the free ride is over (for now)

Didn't say that, but alot of coins are better technical wise, doesn't mean they will beat Bitcoin.

This is what I have been telling people! No one listens! Not to mention all the coins being held up right now. With the recent scam of Sheep market place the price will also be manipulated. There was 96,000 BTC that were stolen by the site admin...thats 1% of all the BTC in the world, almost 100 million dollars worth
