even though i've read about the new gen nuke plants and it sure reads like they have it worked out.

and throium seems to be not so radioactive, i'm not a physician though and am going simply by what i've read.

they didn't spend 50 years building nuclear plants all over the world on designs, 'they didn't think they worked out fully'. So, the suggestion is they have thought this before.

a lot more is known today than 50/40/30/20/10 years ago.

an example: they know more about computers today than they did 50 years ago, that's why computers are thesize of a phone, and no longer the size of a house, and are exponentially more powerful.
