Activity Trackers Anyone? I picked up a "Fit Bit," its pretty cool..

So I was doing cardio an hour a day for a year and a half straight, banged out my knee again 3 weeks ago. Worried about gaining the weight back, I researched the shit out of these things before i made a choice. I bought a Fit Bit activity tracker.

Been using this Activity Wrist Tracker, APP and the Fit Bit scale for 3 weeks. These 3 things all work seamlessly together.

I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with how it works and the results I have been getting.

I log my food intake

My water intake

My sleep

And my work outs

This thing almost turns fitness into a video game.

The battery life is about 10 days.

I get a weekly chart break down on what is what. Very impressive.

Learned a lot about my habits, sleep, food intake and natural activity calorie burn.

Anyone else using any of these? Curious.

Right now Im just using an app on my phone to track my walks/runs. Gives me gps track/speed/distance and basic calories burned.

Helps out a lot. Been thinking about getting one of those and most likely will.

My kids' mom has one. I pick it up at least once a day.

Saw those APPs too. Pretty cool.

I do notice that I really burn a lot of calories when I shoot. Im the Photog, The director and the camera man. When I start, I'm always moving.

The other cool thing is the scale detects the write pedometer and knows when I'm on the scale. It logs my weight and body fat composition via WiFi to their website and it updates my APP.

Another thing I noticed, is when I'm running errands and have not eaten and I'm in line at Home Depot and I see those Misses Fields cookies as a quick snack; Im like: "Im not going to log that shit in and take away from my 1900 daily calorie budget".

This thing really keeps me in check.

Logging the food is super simple too. I type what I'm eating in and it comes up fast. It automatically calculates the fat, sugar, carbs, protein of just about everything for me. Everything is in their data base so it makes loving food quick and simple.

Seems to be working and I never notice this thing on my wrist until I log in food or it wakes me in the morning with its vibrating alarm.

It also tells me when in the night, that I'm restless, which is also pretty cool.

they work well as a motivator for people who have issues with that. I'm not a big cardio guy these days though.

was checking those ones out too. Pretty cool. Great APP with those and the new ones now connect via bluetooth.

The read out screen on the Fit Bit was the deciding factor for me. I do feel that the Fit Bit and new Up are a bit better that the NIKE one.

Im motivated, but its tough to be motivated 24/7. That where this tracker picks up where my moments of weakness and motivation fails.

I set out what I wan to accomplish and it sets out daily goals.

And the goals are achievable by just taking a simple 20 minute walk.

Im getting older and Im the type that needs to live a diet type of lifestyle or I will get fat. Or worse die early of a heart attack or get diabetes.

Getting old sucks!! I do this for my kids.

Don't need to die early. I shot enough scenes to know what will happen to my daughter if I die early.

END UP WORKING FOR MY PEERS!! FUCK THAT!!

The FitBit is great for those who walk/run.

I'm a runner. It tracks my sleep movements, my steps/miles/active minutes for the day. It does NOT differentiate walking from biking or swimming....find a band that fits you. In all fairness, I also us a separate app on my iPhone to track my runs/walks/cycling/swims. My fitbit keeps me aware. I sit at a desk making porn money all day. Having a band that reminds me that I'm being lazy works for me.

I play a lot of competitive basketball and use the fitbit to tell me how far I run during my games. I got it mostly for curiosity, haven't gotten to the point where I've input my diet and used it for sleep tracking, but maybe I'll give that a shot.
