Any Logic Pro X users here?

Just wondering if there are any Logic Pro X users here?

https://www.apple.com/ca/logic-pro/

Do you like it? Is it easy to use? Powerful? Worth the money, etc? Do you recommend any extra hardware to take advantage of it for basic home studio / hobby / fun use?

I like Logic but have gotten more comfortable using Adobe Audition, so I typically just stay within Adobe these days. And I can move back and forth between Windows and OSX and still be able to get done what I need to get done.

Is it worth the money? - In my opinion, it's the only Apple product that is. What you get for $200 just can't be matched imho.

As far as external equipment needed, it depends on what you're planning to do with it. The fact that you're even asking though tells me that, like me, you're not an audio production master or anything; so for starters I'd just worry about getting a good midi keyboard and work your way up from there if you need more. The software though, has pretty much all you'd ever really need at the amateur level.

Yes thats right - I'm just a hobby user at best. What about a beat pad / controller? Worth it?

Protools all the way

Well, if you're going to be doing a lot of beats and dubstep type stuff then yeah, they can be worth it. To be honest though, if you have an ipad or ipad mini then I'd say check out logic remote first because it's quite nice as well, and could be all you need for beats and such.

Hell, I'd even go so far as to say just try out logic pro x with logic remote before buying anything else, including a midi keyboard, assuming you have an ipad of some sort. I forgot to mention it earlier heh.

I still use Logic 9 on my Macbook. Honestly, I hadn't heard of X until this thread. Ha! But all I use is Logic 9, an Akai 16 key mini-midi controller and a pair of Dre's. This is my mobile set-up for traveling and it works great! You can't go wrong with Logic, dude. Each version comes with some great stock tools and the selection of available AU's and sound packs out there is ridiculous.
iwantchixx mentioned Reason, which is another great production program. I have that particular program in my production studio and it's too much fun!

Enjoy!

It's astoundingly good. Simple to pick up and a tonne of professional control when you are ready for it.

And the "drummers" they have in there are fucking unbelievable.
