New photographer.

Hi everyone!

I'm a seasoned photographer looking to make a movie into content production.

So where should I start? I took plenty of nude pictures of girls and am technically savvy. However I'm missing some knowledge as to how the shifting of pictures work in this industry and where to sell.

I notice lots of you make sales in here.

So any good sites I should ow where I can reliably sell my pictures?
And how much can I statistically expect a single set to sell? Provided of course that it's a set people wanna buy. Hiring a model I'd need to sell a set of 10$ each quite a few times, close 20-30 times to break even with models fees here.

Best,
Corby

So content most coming from Asia and Eastern Europe? Where models are cheaper?

Also, how much of girls ID I can blur out? I guess name, picture and birthday is all that's needed?

Not at all.

Corby 12-12-2013 01:05 AM

So to summarize:

- I shoot a pretty girl

- I scan her ID and blur out SSN and other sensitive data, leaving her picture, name and date of birth

- I now have a set of 30 pictures of said pretty girl.

Where to go from here? I've googled my way to very few content sites that accept contributions. Should I start my own content store?

Best,
Corby

Burger King is hiring, youll make more money there

Corby 12-12-2013 01:49 AM

It's not so much about the money. It's about having fun. And at least breaking even. ;)

I couldn't agree more

Corby 12-12-2013 02:17 AM

So with that in mind, any links to content market places?

Bobden 12-12-2013 02:56 AM

Well I don't know where you could find a good place for this but Good luck getting the fun you wish! :)

MaDalton 12-12-2013 03:20 AM

i should write an e-book...

lets start with: 30 pics wont get you anywhere, neither would doing no video

just shooting for non-exclusive with no other way of monetizing the content makes no sense, you'll need a year or two to break even on a set - especially on solo content

if you want to start this today, you need to shoot the most breathtaking content ever or be a really lucky mofo ;)

It's a pity, an industry of fools who devalued content and overvalued traffic and here we are today where only 1 in 10,000 visitors to a pay site will join. It was never easy to be a successful shooter, too many believed it was just a matter of buying a cheap camera and lights and snapping pictures of a pretty girl. A skilled shooter knew how to draw the sexuality out of an inexperienced model, she has to look at the camera as if she was seducing the viewer. I had no problem doing this, I'm not a great photographer, many much better than me but I was much more successful because I understood what the customer wanted. Whether I was shooting for the top glossy mags or the amateur stuff for Readers Wives it's all the same. A shame more never understood this. We turned down many a program, wanted 10 sets per day and matching video for peanuts. We had no problem selling 3 or 4 sets from a day's shooting to the magazines and then put those in the shop and could sell the set 10 times non-exclusive, often many more times than that. Enough for me to retire comfortably. Of course my advice falls upon deaf ears, not many ears left anyway as you can see by how many companies are left. :(

I'd post a legit response but to be completely honest, I have more entertaining ways of wasting my time here. Based on the above post, you either need a shit ton of advice or you're another fake nick stirring the GFY pot. :2 cents:

Let's see some of your work.

Saying that a typical set should be around 100+ pictures?

These are things I need to know.

;)
