If Bitcoin is a compelling concept, Dogecoin is totally stupid. Even so, it's still proving successful in the midst of the cryptocurrency craze. In just 24 hours, the mining difficulty for Dogecoins increased thirty levels, according to one impressed, self-described fanboy. That means a whole lot of people are trying to mine their own Dogecoins. Believe it or not, Dogecoin has gone viral.

There already is Sexcoin (alive and growing) and Porncoin (zombified). Pornobucks sounds kind of nice but to much like the name of a affiliate program. Not to mention that it would be kind of troublesome (very troublesome) to get something with "porn" in its name on a exchange. Even "sex" seems to be a big problem.

Isn't the value of each cryptocurrency doomed to drop as more and more new currencies are created? The more people jumping on the bandwagon, the more likely the wagon tips over?

I imagine that in a few years, it will all become like Multi Level Marketing ...... only the creators and people who get in on the ground floor will profit from convincing others to convince others to convince others to mine.
