saleen42 Ripped Me Off $200

I did a MechBunny template design for him, for his site FreakyClips.com, my job was to do the design and have the implementation into MechBunny completed -- that's what I was asked, that's what was agreed upon.

Then on top of that, Konrad, from what I was told was programming all the additional features to make the site into a Clip Store and from what I knew was going to implement his side of things once I was finished on my end.

Once the design / implementation was completed I sent it to him (saleen42) to approve, and he wrote back confused about why the Clip Store functions weren't working. I just assumed that was obvious, and said that was Konrad's part of the project and that he'd add all that when he was completed. He wasn't able to understand that, and kept going on that he wasn't paying twice for the implementation -- and it didn't matter how many times I explained it, he couldn't grasp that he Konrad implementing his work was something entirely separate from what we did.

There's still $200 owing on the project (plus I had to pay for the implementation out of my pocket, because I have someone else do that part) and it's been almost a month now, he ignores all attempts to contact him and he has been given several notices that I was going to post this issue on GFY. So here we are.

Here's the finished template

Markul 12-27-2013 08:38 AM

Very nice work man. Hope you get paid.

Maqua 12-27-2013 08:52 AM

Site looks good, now it needs to be paid for, hope it happens soon

Manfap 12-27-2013 08:59 AM

Shame, sell it as a ready made site to someone, then they can integrate it with konrad or their own team.

Site that nice shouldn't be left hanging.

seeandsee 12-27-2013 09:42 AM

that is so bad to not get paid for your work...

mineistaken 12-27-2013 09:49 AM

nice design

~Ray 12-27-2013 09:49 AM

not good business for him

ErectMedia 12-27-2013 09:50 AM

1)50% deposit before beginning work.
2)Detail all terms in an email and have them agree to terms before beginning work.

They don't pay then you can change a logo and sell it to someone else for 50% off to recoup your costs. :2 cents:

SlammedMedia 12-27-2013 10:09 AM

That's for the comments about the design guys!

I'm planning to turn it into a template for MechTemplates if he doesn't pay by the end of this month.

idolbucks 12-27-2013 11:12 AM

Sucks man! Takes ErectMedia's advice.

Who contracted with Konrad on it, you or the client? Sounds very much like the client doesn't have a clear picture of what was supposed to happen/is happening.

Hope you get it worked out :thumbsup

You do any work with smart tube pro?

Hit me up if you do, thanks

I will be if he does. As of right now he only has the PSD files.

Marcus Aurelius 12-27-2013 04:50 PM

You do good work and Konrad is a very cool dude to deal with.

If the guy is using your template, DMCA his host and shut him down.

Hmm, strange that he is confused about it then. Oh well, can never tell how it will go with a user.. er I mean client.

good luck.

No it's unreal. I have a solid hour of ICQ history where I'm trying over and over to explain it to him, and he just continues to act ignorant to it all -- it's hard to believe.

adultchatpay 12-27-2013 08:24 PM

people are ripping off a good business person. Can't imagine the time and dedication spent with that work. I hope it will be settled out soon.

lagcam 12-27-2013 11:00 PM

I don't see where you say you talked with Konrad?

Considering that at least part of your business seems to be designing templates specifically for his script, I presume you have a relationship with him and I know you say that the client contracted with him direcly about this but clearly the client doesn't understand each party's individual responsibilities and a little liaison between you and Konrad should be able to sort that out surely?

As we're indirectly involved here i'll explain the situation from our side.

We did some clipstore-esque modifications for the client, and some of them involved making some modifications to the templates to work with the new functionality. We did them all on the default template as he did not have a design/layout for the site at that time. We did the work and got paid in full. Some time later, he got this template made (very nice btw, I would say his nicest work to date), showed it to us, we quoted on cutting and integrating it and he decided to have MechTemplates do it instead. Our involvement with the project ended at that point.

Klen 12-28-2013 04:51 AM

Sounds like a story for http://clientsfromhell.net/

Wellness Cash 12-28-2013 07:47 AM

Right click > save as.

Nice work, thanks :Graucho

Ah, ok. Sounds like the client paid you already and expected the OP to pick up the changes you did in the default template and get them into the new design.

This was never told to us. We were only told to do the implementation and then hand it over to Konrad. We did exactly what was asked.

I didn't say he told you that. I said sounds like he expected that. It really sounds like there is a communication failure somewhere in there somewhere. Don't know where.

myleene 12-29-2013 12:50 AM

It's really a great design.

I would love having a similar one whenever I'll make a new tube. I'll seriously consider both of you for a future project.

It's a shame your client doesn't recognize your work and pay for it. :(

He ripped me of for $4,000 .... I sent him $ for his one of his clipstores...

He uploaded me content (wasn't what i primary wanted) and never delivered me the store.... first it was "problem with international ownership transfer" and then he just simply stop responding. He is a douche bag!
