Can't recall offhand any exact phrases, think it's more of my own years in spending money, sometimes shit works and sometimes shit doesn't pan out as planned, not a waste as long as ya learn from it, so any money I've wasted over the years has educated me so a gradual improvement/education year after year. Spend/Analyze/Adjust=Profit

When I was 18 someone told me to set aside a small percentage of your monthly income and to invest it into something that is low risk. I did exactly that - I took 10% of out of every paycheck and invested it into utility companies, phone, power, water, etc - low risk, low return. I also put in any extra money I had - tax return money, that kind of thing....

Twenty-five years later it's a pretty good sum. If I keep it up for another twenty years.... I'll retire and live well.

Take 100% responsibilty for *everything*. No excuses, no blahblah if that hadn't happened this wouldn't have happened etc - that may still be true, but I have 100% responsibility over how I react/respond to it, so ultimately, it's still down to me.

Couple that with 'you can't change people, places, or things' (AA), and that's the best piece of combined advice, that I would pass on if I had only 1 thing to say to someone.
