how to make an animated gif look good
I need to know if there is any good programs or a way inside photoshop cs 5 to create an animated gif from a video that looks good. I figured out how to import frames to layers and to smart sharpen all layers in PS and even though the end result is not horrible, it could be a lot better. see example below

look at the options u have available when saving the gif from photoshop. at "save as web...." and check the highest bit colors and trilinear texture threading

First, you have to realize that because you're restricted to 256 colors there will always be a quality difference between a gif and the original color video.
If the video is greyscale you can get away with more since the color space is a better match to gif's restrictions. You always need to start by the limits you're working under: what's the maximum file size? Then you can start testing reducing the color palette/size of the image until you hit the palette/image size combo that suits your needs. |

cool flash :) , to get the best result from the gif u have to convert the video to best format that fit animations / short clips
i see u got correct dimensions . u only need to improve the colors |
if the video was hd don’t expect ur gif will have same quality i never had this results
it always helpful to make things smaller ..others will not notice the ugly pixels in pics |
I create mine in Premier pro: I am not 100% happy with them but they take just seconds to create this way.
I get a few sec clip I am happy with. <right click> > Field options > Always deinterlace Export> animated gif Video setting> frame rate 10 Video Settings> Field Order > Progressive ( this stops the lines issue I had) Video settings> Aspect > square Pixels (1.0) Output Source scaling>Scale to fill It's not perfect, but then again it only take a a minute or so to create one. I am not happy with the logo in the gif it is a little blurry, but it works for now http://i.imgur.com/OMpXLXJ.gif |
