Yes there is steam coming from Reactor 3, but it has been there since the disaster began. Maybe some Europeans can chime in, but I'd think it's not mandatory as domestic ID - that's why they have National identity cards. in that regard, i've kept up with fuku nuku and the simple fact is there's no current event(s) to report. they are removing the damaged rods and such, which is an on-going risky effort and there's some steam at #3. on-going long term efforts like that simply drops off the news cycle, it's always been that way.

there's plenty of space on news sites for the various types of news, be it current events, politics, entertainment and sports. not all the news has to be doom and gloom,
