Is Fukushima Covered In The News Where You Live?
Do West Coast US News shows cover Fukushima?
I don't think they cover it at all here on the East Coast. I just read this, which is not very uplifting... TEPCO Quietly Admits Reactor 3 Could Be Melting Down NOW http://www.occupycorporatism.com/wp-...I2-600x379.jpg Turner Radio Network (TRN) has issued a report regarding Fukushima Diachi Nuclear Plant that is expected to affect the entire Northern Hemisphere. According to the report: ?Persons residing on the west coast of North America should IMMEDIATELY begin preparing for another possible onslaught of dangerous atmospheric radiation from the Fukushima nuclear disaster site in Japan.? Continues here... http://www.occupycorporatism.com/tep...3-melting-now/ Is anyone worried about any of this? |
Ironically, it came up in a dinner conversation tonight. Mainstream media is quiet on it. :(
|
and why is susanne posting pic from july?
http://files.cdn.ecowatch.com/wp-con.../07/fukART.jpg http://ecowatch.com/2013/07/30/fukus...o-wreck-havoc/ oh i see, it looks more scarry :upsidedow have luck usa friends :) |
I tend to trust new sources that contain the words 'eco', 'occupy', 'survival' and 'truth' in their urls as legitimate sources of news.
|
The fact that the international community hasn't stepped in and made Fukushima a global priority is beyond unbelievable to me. These fucking people pretend like we have a fresh new planet just waiting for this one to be fucked beyond repair. Japan needs to swallow it's pride and ask the world for help, and at the same time the world needs to tell Japan that it's helping whether of not they like it. This is serious business if there ever was serious business.

BFT3K, I urge you to re-read the news you posted, located here.
http://www.occupycorporatism.com/tep...3-melting-now/ It is stupid article made to be read by stupid, SCARED, people. Try reading the "language" of the article. Every scare tactic is in quotes which is normally not how quotes are used. Quotes are used when quoting a person or article, but this article quotes scary phrases. In other words, the article is made to scare the shit out of you. If you need proof, look at the photo they included. It's not recent - its a photo from the day of the Tsunami, not recent. Now think about how you and most everyone else tends to read that page. What do you see? You see the explosion, you see "Melting down Now!". You see "Issued a Report". The ad beside the page says "BE THE HERO / Emergency Essentials". Etc etc... this is consumer / idiot manipulation 101. Want more proof? Scroll down and look at the check list : Quote:
And of course the page has links to Glenn Beck, polls to rate Obama's presidency, Benghazi conspiracies, etc.... Yes there is steam coming from Reactor 3, but it has been there since the disaster began. And of course the situation is terrible and could very well get worse but trust me, whores like Suzanne Posel and her "Investigative Headline News" should not be your only source of news. Try http://fukushimaupdate.com and start from there. |

Haven't heard anything in Scandinavian media.
|
I like how they say we should "immediately begin preparing."
How exactly? Run to our bomb shelters? Don our radioactive protective suits? edit: I just read the whole article. That is precisely what they are suggesting. LOL. I guess I better head to home depot and pick up some tyvec suits and duct tape. |
Sorry, Americans want real news, like Mikey Cyrus' exploits and the Duck Dynasty controversy. No time for Fukushima in a country where less than 25% of its citizens have passports.
This just in: Breaking News. . . . .Justin Bieber is retiring! |

why don't you go to tepco.com, and read about the steam events for yourself? a lot of 'in the know' fukushima peeps LOVE to discredit informatino TEPCO deems fit to release themselves why is that |
The reason that's not on mainstream news is because its probably bullshit. Not to say that everything is great with Fukishima, but why would you trust anything that site says? So if CNN isn't covering something, that means it's happening? Don't you think this would be all over the regular news if it was true?
Those type of websites are made for idiots who like to be scared. Their business is to scare. When anyone posts a story from one of those fringe sites, you should first look at their other articles and see if they just write bullshit. If you can't tell what's bullshit, then its time to stop trying to be a news messenger. |

I beg to differ. The majority of Americans do not like to travel outside of the US. As far as mandatory ID that is certainly not true for Central & South America. Maybe some Europeans can chime in, but I'd think it's not mandatory as domestic ID - that's why they have National identity cards. However, as most Europeans like to travel, I am sure the vast majority do have passports. Close proximity to other countries certainly helps facilitate this. |
Yes, it is discussed on Asian news networks. It's still a VERY serious matter. However, western media can't be bothered. But that is typical of western media and global events. In and out of the news in a jiffy so they can discuss more important things, like celebrities.

i dont' get my news from what's force fed. it doesn't make sense to just accept whatever someone at some major news site thinks will sell eyeballs.
i handpick news sources and stories. in that regard, i've kept up with fuku nuku and the simple fact is there's no current event(s) to report. they are removing the damaged rods and such, which is an on-going risky effort and there's some steam at #3. on-going long term efforts like that simply drops off the news cycle, it's always been that way. there's plenty of space on news sites for the various types of news, be it current events, politics, entertainment and sports. not all the news has to be doom and gloom, news \ˈnüz, ˈnyüz\ : new information or a report about something that has happened recently : information that is reported in a newspaper, magazine, television news program, etc. : someone or something that is exciting and in the news and there more than enough space on the internet for all of the above. the starting point that i've found best for fuku nuke news is the 2nd one in **********'s post http://fukushimaupdate.com |

We can hope that everyone that relies on occupywhatever follows their instructions to the letter and end up suffocating. That will be one less problem.

Dismissing radiation leaks is a bit arrogant. I'm not saying run fur the hills but it is not safe at all. There is a very real possibility that it could get really bad fast. |

I'm thinking I should leave Tokyo, go back to US and start a zombie shelter business on west coast. Who's with me? :winkwink:

That's not a news site - it's a scare site. Some people live for this.

As for why it's not in the news more often. It's not the news agencies fault - its our fault. People care more about Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardasian (sp). News agencies know this because of the clicks and Tweets celebrity names / scandals generate. The world has been dumbed down and do not understand, or want to understand, extremely important things like War, nuclear energy and pollution. Quote:

steam, from a messed up reactor, for over 24 hours, with no 'reason known', is definitely a big deal furthermore, this is what tepco feels 'won't matter if the world knows'.. so, what are these guys hiding? |

And what exactly is to be done about it? The cat's out of the bag and long since gone. Mommy is not going to kiss it and make it better. Between Japan's Fukushima and China's out of control toxic pollution all headed to the US AND large numbers of aging nuclear power plants on US' east coast entering the dangerous periods of their life spans...AND global warming effects...Glad I am no longer there. Better to go quick rather than a long drawn out mutating illness. No thanks. No Hollywood ending this time. |

This is not good
DOUBLE the normal amount of radiation is found in Missouri snow and San Francisco beach busts safety levels prompting investigation A San Francisco beach has five times the safe level fueling concerns over Fukushima's impact The findings - reaching over 150 micro-REM per hour - prompted federal officials to launch an investigation Officials said they were 'befuddled' Snow in Missouri has been found to contain double the normal radiation amount In September, a BBC report said radiation readings around the Fukushima power plant were 18 times higher than previously reported A beach in San Francisco contains five times the safe levels of radiation fueling concerns that Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant?s crisis is impacting areas across the country. It comes just days after radiation readings were found to be double the normal amount in Missouri's recent snowfall. According to YouTube user, DutchSinse, who posted a video of him taking the Geiger readings in St Louis, the findings mean that ?small particles of radioactive material are indeed coming down in the precipitation. Past tests show around 30CPM in the same spot on a nice day with no precipitation?. Video and more here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...fe-levels.html |
lol if they find out the original source of that..
