that knob deserved it, fancy jumping the police line then arguing with the copper who came over. he just deliberately tried to be as big a dick as possible to the copper just for youtube views.

My brother has to put up with cunts like him all the time while he's working. Then the second he does anything they scream "police abuse" or "police brutality".

Get the fuck out the way and you won't need to worry...

Imagine having everything you do at work being video taped and the moment you do something wrong it's posted on Youtube for the world to see.

If this happened in someone's workplace there would be a lawsuit about privacy laws.

go to London then and see how many inteligent cctv are in there.... look up GCHQ...Those Britons love surveilance and Panopticon ;-)

So i'm kind a surprised of this officer :1orglaugh

Rumbledog 01-08-2014 02:50 PM

The Brits were taken over by Muslims. They are super pussies!

SilentKnight 01-08-2014 06:28 PM

I'm not sure how the laws work in England - but aren't photos federally protected under some sort of intellectual property laws?

Whether you think the photographer overstepped his bounds and shouldn't have traveled down the street and/or taken the photos - or if he was within his rights...the cop swearing at the photographer...then telling him he was lucky he wasn't punched or beaten in some way.

That's real professional. :(

At the very least the cop needs a refresher course in public relations.

NewNick 01-09-2014 03:22 AM

The copper was correct. The guy is a dick.

In my country such a "cop" would lost his job on the second day. Here is an example:

This police officer has lost his job just because he clutched his holster (didn't even get his gun out). He was just unhappy that someone is filming him :2 cents:

Why not? Here where I live it's allowed by law to film the cops on duty. You know, the sky has not fallen and our cops are not whining about it. All those famous dashcam videos prove it :2 cents:

Just to point out that in the uk the chap is allowed to take pics.

there was no reason the police chap went up to the bloke as he was doing nothing wrong.

there is no excuse for him to loose his temper. if he cannot handel the situation then he should not be in the police.

its not his job to put his views on others.

again this chap has commited no crime. he has done nothing wrong.

MrBottomTooth 01-09-2014 06:08 AM

Lol all that stink raised and then the cop says all the pictures he took are fine at the end.

Captain Kawaii 01-09-2014 06:14 AM

Reminds me of this case.
People have the right to videotape. Cops hate it but fuck em.

its not for the cop to deside.

the chap took the pics legaly.

in the uk you are allowed to take ANY pics you want in a public place.

what if he shot the cop comiting a crime?

this cop has no right to do what he did.

it does not matter if the guy was a jerk or not. i worked at a cinema and some people were jerks, but it did not mean i could abuse them.

if this cop can not hadel a simple situation then he should be removed.

yes there was, the very first thing the copper said was that he had broken the police cordon. he had jumped or broken the police marker tape to get to where he was.

What a Royal waste of time!

That's not true at all. I can think of many reasons why it would be illegal.

Interfering with a police investigation is one. Harressment - I'm thinking paparazzi here - is another. Taking photos of an illegal act might make you make you a conspirator and part of the crime itself. If you take a picture of a minor getting fucked in the park, it's in a public place but it's surely not legal. If you stand on the street and take a picture of someone naked through a window engaging in a sex act and then post it or sell it, that might not be legal either.

I haven't watched the video and I'm not about to - I am a bit busy this morning. But from what I've read in the posts it seems like the police were notifying someone a family member had been hurt - a private, confidential, and potentially emotionally upsetting moment.

It's simple: Be a douchebag and you will be treated as such. It might be legal for someone to stand on the sidewalk, but if the police want to fuck with you they will and can - you can be standing on the street, the police can decide your actions are suspicious, search you, question, then arrest you on some stupid charge just to fuck up your afternoon.

Reminds me of that group of people that wanted to "dance" at the National Monument in Washington DC. No, it's not illegal to dance, but when you are making dozens of other tourists nervous... They will find something to charge you with arrest you and harress you.

yes in a public place

though if you have been convicted of a sex crime you may be banned from certain activities such as being near kids.

but legaly yes you are

i can shoot you in the street and i do not need a model release

if your having sex in a public place in the uk its perfectly legall for somone to film you and sell it.

of course if the person(s) are under 18 then it would be a crime.

the law is clear (and it even says this on the london mets website) that in the uk you can take pics in a public place.

behave yourself... you talk and behave like that to someone who you feel isn't using common sense, and see what happens.

Socks 01-14-2014 06:47 AM

If you want to debate the law, become a lawyer. Standing around talking to a beat cop about the ins and outs of what may or may not be illegal is just plain stupidity. Cops aren't even experts on the law.

johnclark 01-14-2014 07:40 AM

Someone should arrest you for taking pictures.

oppoten 01-14-2014 07:41 AM

Camera guy seems like a dick tbh.

Citizen journalists suck, especially the whiny ones.
