million dollar idea for an app
 

ok, maybe a $20 000 one

Bear with me - let?s say you are a girl that goes home after the end of her shift, 2 am every morning. So, one morning you see three guys following you, you take out your phone, click on the HUGE app icon and your phone "becomes" a police radio. You press the number 3 and all you (and the shmucks that follow you) hear is "Officer Parker, there are three individuals following you, would you like us to interfere" or something of that nature. Basically, the idea is to have your phone sound like a 2 way police radio.

OK, the idea came to me like 10 seconds ago, so it might need some tweaking, but a "police chatter" should scare criminals way in like 90% of the cases, no?

There are already several actual police scanner apps - so, I guess it was a good idea.

if there is similar app's out there, compare them to your idea. Maybe you can get ideas from that and improve it or make it better. You know what would be better for girl walking home at night alone, tazer app. Don't stop coming up with ideas!!

Is a smartphone speaker loud enough for this to be effective outside on the street?

Or an app that turns your phone into a 9.mm with 10 hollow points.

His idea is fake sound imitating that phone owner is police officer and she is talking with her colleagues.

It would definitely work. Not all the time, but definitely some potential robbers/attackers would be confused and change their plans. Thats for sure.

Wouldn't it just be safer for the chick to call a friend and actually have someone on the phone with her? Probably more of a deterrent as well as they might not want to attack a girl who is on the phone with someone?
