Glide down the slide, Clyde! :thumbsup :stoned ADG |
thats some scary shit!
Thats a pretty wild water slide :thumbsup The roof slide is not to bad as well hehe
That is one heck of a ride.
what is this? People will jump there? They won't survive
I don't get just why they would make something like that in a place that you can only use it for maybe 3 months out of the year? Seems to be the sort of thing you put in Daytona Beach or Miami...but Kansas City- Come on!?!
that would be a blast
If it's safe sure but looks like you would bounce right out of it.
Damn that ride looks like fun

I love water slides but that sounds a little intense. I was hoping for a long slow and winding one with tubes or something. I miss those kinds of slides, we used to have an awesome one north of toronto when I was a kid. Any of you guys have any must sees for water parks? I'm out of touch these days and miss them hehe. I am not a big fan of roller coasters but would spend all day on those, good exercise too with all that stair climbing. |
Damn, that does look pretty crazy
That looks fucking insane. Hell, the walk up the stairs would give me a heart attack.
Slide
You really have to want to ride the slide. Drive by it all the time. The stairs you have to climb don't seem worth it. Have to remember to snap a picture of the stairs, next time I go by there.
It's a fairly new water park, from a company out of Texas. Next door is a Great Wolf Lodge with an indoor/outdoor water park. But the "Shitterbaum" is supposed to be 100 times bigger. Problem is they started building right when the economy collapsed. So they're charging full price for 1/10 of what you're supposed to get. Hey CS, this is the park for you, Shitterbaum isn't the real name, but everybody here calls it by that name. |
Damn, I've gone down one of those big slides here in LA, 25 years ago. I think I can safely say, I'm too fucking old for that! LOL
Fuck that walk up the stairs!! And I'd like to see a video of someone on it just to see what kinda speeds it really builds up..

Maybe because local public sector gave some incentives to developers in order to attract tourists? Maybe there are not enough competition compared to Florida so its makes sense? Maybe... ? Maybe..? |
and where is the water?

Schlitterbahn Water Park
Quote:
It was developed by the Schlitterbahn family from Texas where they have 3 parks http://www.schlitterbahn.com/ They are getting huge incentives to develop their park. Its in the NASCAR Kansas Speedway area. The Spring & Fall races are off-season, but the track has other races & events in-season. Other than World's of Fun & The Great Lodge, St Louis is the closest attraction. Next door is a Cabales, Legends entertainment/shopping district, T-Bones minor league baseball and Sporting KC professional soccer. Not to mention it has the second Nebraska Furniture Mart. (Better price on my Macs + interest free financing). My ex worked at Great Wolf, she said they got people from every state in The Great Plains except Texas. Plus Missouri, Iowa, Arkansas and Minnesota. |
I love Roller Coasters and will ride any insane crazy thing ever built. Water slides though are another thing. I tried water slides twice only but that was enough for me to hate them. I have a fear of flying out of it, or having my leg catch the side or something. no way
So where is the vid of it being used?
I'd do it once, be too lazy to walk them stairs again, needs an elevator :2 cents:
Someone is going to die on that thing.
looks scary :Oh crap:Oh crap:Oh crap:Oh crap:Oh crap

Water Slide
I forgot to post this yesterday
I child riding the slide fell out & died. They are still investigating the cause. They have closed the park for several days. Usually when I go by there, it looks like the ride is closed. They need a certain weight for the raft ride to be "safe." By the way, it did occur in Kansas City Kansas City, Kansas We're a sister city to the bigger Kansas City, Missouri There are places you can walk down the road and have both feet in 2 states. In the old days Missouri had Sunday beer, but it Kansas, you could 6 days a week buy beer at 18. It's called the State Line Game. Gasoline is cheaper in MO as their taxes are less. Always fill-up there. |

Waterslide
The park is reopening in the next few days. The water slide is closed, probably forever. They haven't released the autopsy yet, but rumors said he might have been almost decapitated. People interviewed on TV said the seatbelts didn't work properly.
I am not sure how keen I am for it as getting older but looks insane.
looks sooooo scarrrryyy!!!

The Net is just above the sled, and the only thing keeping people in the sled is a seatbelt.. ie, seatbelt fails / sled goes up, you have it (read peoples heads) rubbing against that net, at 70 MPH painfully dumb. edit: yea.. decapitation from worn velco on seatbelt. the fact this isn't being criminally investigated is shocking Caleb Schwab: What We Know About the Water Slide Death |
