you're right. 100%

we should wipe out all the medical information from the internet

just in case someone decides to think for themselves.

Do you need vaccination for measles?
In Western Europe people would just let their kids play with kids that have measles, so that they got it as well. Is measles such a dangerous disease that you need vaccination for it?

Maybe I'm missing something?

According to info on the CDC's website about 20 million people worldwide get measles. 1 in 20 of those that get it will have it develop into pneumonia and an average of 168,000 people die from it every year. They do say that most of those infections and deaths occur in India so I would imagine it likely has a lot to do with a lack of available healthcare for those that do get really sick from it.

An interesting thing on their site also pointed out the number of cases in the US quadrupled in 2011. I would guess that is likely due to the anti-vaccination movement.

is this the same type of numbers of who "dies yearly from the flu", and who actually dies from the flu?

the 'anti-vaccine movement' has always been about asking questions.. which i believe is a point that has been missed here. is the OP, in his infinite wisdom, suggesting that we stop asking questions?

is he asking for the limitation and removal of the internet to save lives?

The thing with the flu is that it often causes other issues or exacerbates existing issues which can lead to death. For example, I have asthma. There is a pretty good chance if I get the flu I will end up with bronchitis from it. If you have other lung issues the flu can lead to pneumonia among other things and that leads to death.

Most flu deaths seem to be people who are sick, old or have other issues.

That said, I never get the flu shot. It is one immunization I don't believe in. I used to get it every year and every year I got the flu. I stopped getting the flu shot about 15 years ago and I have had the flu twice since then.

Asking questions is always good. I don't doubt that some vaccines cause problems, but I think most of them have helped us out in many ways.

Well golly, if we follow that line of thinking, we don't really need to protect ourselves against AIDS. It's that gosh darned neemona that's the devil!

?

And now I have just queued the "AIDS isn't a big deal" discussion?

Have fun guys!

_Richard_ 01-21-2014 06:07 PM

well, lets review:

most credible article i can find:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/flu-de...heck-1.1127442

good overview with no background check:

http://wellnessachiever.net/shocking...aths-flu-shot/

first article i can find:

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/ar...lu-deaths.aspx

things of note:

'According to the CDC?s most recent death statistics located on their Web site, influenza and pneumonia killed 62,034 people in 2001.'

'..Upon further investigation of the Web site, the actual number of deaths caused by the flu came to 257, with pneumonia accounting for the remaining number of death'

then you get into the new HPV vaccine..

which was initially set up for women, but now they want to inject young boys with this shit too..

do you know, there is over 100 strains of HPV, but this 'vaccine' only 'covers' 4 of them? the powers that be claim they cover the 'highest risk' strains, but in fact here is 11 of them

do you know what african country they ran the human trials in? did they.. you know.. tell these people they were guinea pigs?

11 to 4?

you use the comparison of '11 to 7 bullets flying at me', but do you understand there is no long-term studies done on this vaccine? A vaccine they are now delivering with the obviously needed measles vaccine to children across more than one country?

i don't agree with gambling with the lives of children regarding a tool with a 4% success rate.

Vaccinate your kids, and do them, yourselves and your community favour.

Well, it may be not accurate comparison because in his examples about flu - flu makes bad things only if something else is bad in the body. While in Aids example its not the case - it will make bad even if body is/was perfect.
So Aids is always dangerous by itself in "perfect body" while flue is not dangerous by itself in "perfect body".

Lichen 01-22-2014 02:17 AM

Not necessarily true. The 1918 Spanish flu killed mostly previously healthy young adults.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1918_flu_pandemic

Quote:

Most influenza outbreaks disproportionately kill juvenile, elderly, or already weakened patients; in contrast the 1918 pandemic killed predominantly previously healthy young adults. Modern research, using virus taken from the bodies of frozen victims, has concluded that the virus kills through a cytokine storm (overreaction of the body's immune system). The strong immune reactions of young adults ravaged the body, whereas the weaker immune systems of children and middle-aged adults resulted in fewer deaths among those groups.[11]

yea, but that required millions of dead bodies rotting in trenches..

Anyone that has been in the service has had more vaccinations than those that didn't. I remember standing in line to get two shots at the same time, one in each arm

His answer to this question would be to ask questions as to why he's being shot at while being riddled with bullets, while all the rest of the people, the ones who chose not to eat paint chips when they were young, to duck and survive instead.

Sarah_Jayne 01-22-2014 11:37 AM

By all means, don't get your kids vaccinated but then please kindly keep them away from the kids too young to have had their own vaccinations.

NEW XTC 01-22-2014 11:50 AM

Jenny McKarthy is (or was) the biggest celebrity to preach the evils of vaccines when her child was afflicted with autism. She may or may not have been correct to call her child's autism "Vaccine injury" but her opinion certainly wasn't backed up by enough scientific data to get on her soap box the way she did. Her nationally televised campaign against vaccines probably convinced hundreds if not thousands of parents not to vaccinate their kids...some deaths the result? Jenny gets my dumb bitch of all time award.

did you get your sources from The Province too?

how the council of foreign relations is pulling its sources from The Province (a little better than fox news) is a little mind boggling.. but hey.

NEW XTC 01-22-2014 11:56 AM

No. Never heard of the province. I just remember her television crusade against vaccines, on many Oprah type shows, a few years ago.. What part of my post don't you agree with?

no part, idiots in every crowd.

it's just funny the council of foreign relations thinks The Province is a credible source. For example, it's the only newspaper i can find that is layed out like a magazine.

if you download the sources, this epidemic seems to exist across the world, one newspaper at a time.

makes you wonder why they wouldn't just pull the info from the hospitals, but hey.

I have several new young moms, looking at old info on the internet and choosing not to get their kids shots.

Then I seen one crying, asking for prayers, because her baby is in the ER with whooping cough.

I also find it funny, that if I Do not get my kids vaccinated they will be kicked out of school. But, I can go get a piece of paper saying it is against my religion, and everything is fine. LOL
