Yeah i upgraded to Galaxy S4 a few weeks back and it got me thinking.

However, i had my S2 for over 2 years with no anti virus and no problems...

RyuLion 01-25-2014 08:19 PM

mikesouth 01-25-2014 10:20 PM

Avast...get it its free and yes you need it

pamon 01-25-2014 10:29 PM

I have lookout installed, came with phone. Protects against malicious apps.

slapass 01-26-2014 06:02 AM

I think the android has a need even though it is small for one but never on the iphone.

ErectMedia 01-26-2014 10:18 AM

On my Android yes Bitdefender. On my 2 iPhones nothing installed and never had any problems. :2 cents:

rickstercreative 01-26-2014 08:30 PM

Avg is free to download for androids and it basically warns you about malicious apps. I love it.... Btw autocorrect kept changing Avg to Ass on my Galaxy s4. It must know I peddle Porn.....

Calico Jack 01-27-2014 03:53 AM

Avast & Malwarebytes on my Samsung Galaxy S3. Progs are small and run in the background. Better to be safer than sorry. Both free from the Play store.

CurrentlySober 01-27-2014 03:58 AM

i kunt a4d a smell phone... :(

J. Falcon 01-27-2014 05:57 AM

I'm using 360 Mobile Security.

dready 01-27-2014 07:25 AM

Avast. It also has a lot of handy anti-theft features. My favourite: being able to load up a Google map and see where your phone is when you've misplaced it.

SlammedMedia 01-29-2014 06:29 AM

Yeah, I have Avast on my Samsung Galaxy S3

pornguy 01-29-2014 07:27 AM

I have an android tablet and use Lookout. Its a nice anti and also way to shut down or track the tablet.

_Richard_ 01-29-2014 12:47 PM

that's going to be a good business

Zeiss 01-29-2014 12:54 PM

I do not have. What's the point in having? I only have browser, terminal, mail, tuner, metronome, skype and icq on phone.

Hentaikid 01-30-2014 01:41 PM

Installed avg on my s3 after some unwanted downloads from banners, they were probably harmless but it got me thinking

don't need with 

FlowerKid 01-30-2014 03:27 PM

How can i install antivirus on my Nokia 3210?

Barry-xlovecam 01-30-2014 06:59 PM

Yes, AVG on an HTC. Mobile phone viruses and malware is becoming an ever growing industry. That sort of defies the Mac and Andriod myth as opposed to Windows as being a virus target. This also justifies the theory that the most popular targets are the most popular operating systems.

However, there do not seem to be user to root hacks on nix based systems like there are hacks at the administrative level with windows from user accounts.
http://cdn.androidcentral.com/sites/...e/lloyd2.png?2 Read this -- it's the Apps you download that do get root access (the gates of Hades).

I use Avast - Touch wood I very rarely have issues on my PCs - Within 24 hours of getting my Nexus I had an infection - I stupidly thought that if it was on Google Play it was safe...
