I don't understand why it matters.

bronco67 01-25-2014 05:34 PM

It matters because there might be someone who wants to use that equipment. It's like when I want to use the squat rack to squat -- but there's some tool using it to do forearm curls for a half hour. I want to tell the idiot that its not doing anything for him anyway.

Many gyms won't even let you use your phones because they are afraid you might snap a pic of some hot girl in spandex's ass.

Don't the gyms realise that's the only reason many guys go in the first place ??

bronco67 01-26-2014 07:58 AM

I always skip the first couple days of the year, because I know the gym will be full of fatties who think they're about to lose a bunch of weight.

pretty sad when you cant put your phone away for an hour or so. FB update like 'the weather is nice' an receiving 20 likes of other similar braindead zombie idiots. Yea that's very important.

I watched a show about people addicted to the internet. One woman was married and had a kid and was glued to her phone all day long. It was so bad it was causing problems with the family. Her husband asked her to put the phone down for 1 hour and watch a TV show with him. She did then afterward she was pissed because she missed so much on Facebook. The things she missed was like a friend checking into a restaurant on Four Square and the posting a picture of their food. She also missed a couple of friends who were talking about what they were watching on TV that night. It was sad that she would rather read this mundane, banal shit than spend time with her kid.

Eventually her husband gave her the ultimatum and she chose her phone over he and their kid.

Sounds a lot like an acquaintance of mine. We call it "fear of missing out"
