you won't make any sales from submitting your videos to the major tubes, however you will increase your branding and people might start typing in your URLs after that... that's about as good as it gets

What is really amazing is, you have well known savvy capable guys on both sides of this fence - some saying with clarity and well presented arguments that you can, and others with strong portfolios and years in the business that say you can't.

We tested this bad bad idea out.
- Give away 10 minute clips - bad idea
- Take the time to cut the clips for the partner program, some even require a custom watermark. - bad idea
- Use our time to upload and tag the free vids for the tubes - bad idea
- trust them when they say 10 minute clips and you can keep 100% of the joins - Nope, they have other tubes that pull the same vids then the banners on that tube have their affiliate code. Doesn't matter anyways. After uploading 20 vids, waiting for them all to go live, giving them time to generate sales...well lets just say for all of our work we made $12 bucks.
- good luck if you want them taken down after you submit to their partner program. Most tell you too bad, we already thought of that and fucked you over with our agreement.

Tube owners - good idea! Get suckers to give your their content so you can sell cams, dating and pills.

"it's great branding" Bullshit! It only brands your content as "FREE"
I'm amazed at how many producers give away their content.
The only way that makes any sense if you have a large network of sites and you give away a small percentage for "Branding"

If I'm wrong, prove it. lets see some proof of people making money with partner accounts.

Submitting videos to tube wont convert but your brand with spread all over and later people type name direct and some of them certainly interested in taking access to website. If we don't submit with our link sooner or later some one else will put our videos on there so better work closely with them and avail what is possible.

I do agree, but the problem we are facing now is being found on page 1 of google. eg, one of our sites, straponjane.com used to be top 3 for 'strapon' and 'strap on' for many years, 2 years ago it bumped right down, that was ok, because there was at least 3 or 4 TGPs / blogs on page 1 which promoted the site so there was a path to our site... now it's just page after page of tubes, and because we always avoided them for the same reasons you stated there is now no path for new users, it's catch 22, so we have little choice but to work with them. We have a brand, repeat customers is fine, type ins are great, but finding those elusive new customers looking for our niches is becoming harder.

Good to see people in the industry finally waking up.

OK ok I will give you a "real" answer. LOL

There are MANY many factors to a successful tube campaign but the #1 "mistake" most Programs make is their Tours. You see, just submitting a video then sending that traffic via a banner or link (this does NOT include 'type-ins') to your normal Tour may or may not work. it depends on your Tour. For tube videos it's best to send the link/banner traffic to a tube-friendly Tour design. If you send it to the Tour you use for TGPs or Blogs your results will vary wildly.

That's the #1 problem most Programs who try tubes face (including those in this thread saying they didn't make $ with tubes).

Also, you must give it time and analyze the data VERY carefully. We know what the Tubes want - 10 min clips that help THEM sell cams and dating - but what is good for YOU the Affiliate or Program Owner? You must find a balance, and stop uploading clips that do not work.

When all is said and done you can expect 1 - 5 sales per upload per clip. Unless you see 1. Or 10. LOL Why is that?

Because it really, REALLY depends on:

Your content
Your Tours (already noted)
Your video length, title and tags
Frequency of uploading
Relationship to Tube Operaters
PPS or Revshare splits - the more you give the more love from the Tubes you get
DMCA Policy (sending takedown requests for the inevitable 'mistakes' i.e., your video re-watermarked or the wrong banner underneath the player)
Your Join page (ease of signing up)

Finally (for now): are you selling "full Joins" or Trials? This can affect signups and depends on the Program.

So there's a lot of factors (and I'm sure I've left some out LOL).

Good luck!

Jay-Rock 02-17-2014 08:37 AM

I tried this as well and no sales. I had all my shit removed. FUCK THE TUBES!

signupdamnit 02-17-2014 08:53 AM

As an affiliate I make good money with tubes............by selling dating and cams. It used to be different once. <shrug>

Pornopat 02-17-2014 09:37 AM

It fully depends on the affiliate program.
Running content partner programs is something very specific. Its something that takes a certain set of skills.
