I'll buy some cheap ass card and that's about it. I always laugh when i hear about the expense some people have went to because they feel they have to prove something on this date every damn year... :1orglaugh

Street vendors are always out in full force here.. Selling single roses, stupid little balloons, candy and various other things.

It doesn't have to cost much to have a good time with your lady.

Not around here. The CBC did a "talk on the street" segment this morning. Everyone they asked said they didn't celebrate Valentine's Day at all.

Personally I just give my hubby a nice big kiss and maybe we make dinner together instead of just me doing the cooking. How are you supposed to love someone doubleplusgood on one day more than on the other days in the year?

Excuse for me to go out for a cheat meal...ill take it!

Taking my woman for a weekend in a nice hotel, some good meals and some fun. Riding the Harley to get there, we will be visiting Solvang, Los Olivos, Carpinteria and Santa Barbara.

It's not a big thing for us, we get out as a couple a lot and really enjoy it. Next month is our China Trip and next year Sturgis Rally

I had booked a nice restaurant to take my wife to on Friday night and she told me to cancel it and cook for her instead. She hates how places mark everything up because its V Day. The place we were going was a set menu, $99 per person for 4 courses, after tax and tip and a bottle of wine, probably looking at $350-400. On a regular night you can be in and out of here for $200 with all of the above.

Valentine's day is bigger than fucking Christmas in my house. My wife and I had our first date on Valentine's day, so we've always made it a big thing. Later on when our daughter was born we made the mistake of giving her the middle name of - you guessed it - Valentine. So now our daughter gets dragged into it. Like I said, it's bigger than Christmas for us.

Well said, OP. I usually boycott this day, although not possible completely because some females do not share this sentiment, so you need to do at least something for them otherwise some of them feel hurt... That sucks, I wish I met a chick who would actually share my sentiments towards this fake commercial day.

I will be cooking for the wife.. but then I cook every day anyway.
And that is why I dont have to bother with valentines day, hehe.

Although she is getting lobster ravioli in a heavily reduced bisque, then confit duck, followed by cheesecake. Making the pasta, live lobster, bisque from scratch and duck slowly cooking away today, for just a quick grill tomorrow to crisp up.. She knows she's spoilt.

Believe it or not, one restaurant in a hotel here in Bangkok wants 500 bucks a couple. But wait, it includes a glass each of Mumm's bubbly. And no, not even a hotel room. Amazing!
