I did a bit of a marathon of the first season a few weeks ago - I saw that and wondered how it made it past the first episode...

Americans don't do criticism that well - Watch what happens in this thread.....

digitaldivas 02-14-2014 10:20 AM

Oh I didn't mean the reply to BF to be serious, I'm just fucking with him. :)

I think the non-Americans are going to handle this worse than the Americans. :-)

Is that from a show? Which one?

Get over yourself. It was a rant on a television show. And a stupid rant based on a stupid question.

There never was a greatest country, there still isn't. The part where he waxes rhapsodic about how *we* used to be great? bullshit. We used to do things for moral reasons? Please.

wake up and turn off your television.

The great men that signed those first papers all had great vested personal interests. :-)

I don't have a problem with it. Humans are humans. That's what we do. I just chuckle every time they are placed on a moral pedestal.

I do not watch a lot of TV, so I had never heard of it either. I think it's a series on HBO or Showtime or something.

All the same, I found it to be an entertaining clip. Especially the comments on today's youth.

Have any of you been following what's going on in Venezuela? Meanwhile we argue about stupid stuff in Libya and Syria while Africa starves....

dyna mo 02-14-2014 10:41 AM

SLy gets it.

Reality.

Oh and sweeping generalizations labeling 315+ million people as not being able to handle criticism? If anyone on this board should be vehemently against profiling and labeling large groups it should be a british homosexual.

The irony in this post is astounding - Sorry Dynamo, but think about it:upsidedow...

Edit: Actually I think Dyna Mo might have been being naughty with this post:pimp.....

dyna mo 02-14-2014 10:56 AM

You should do the thinking.

I fully expected you to think I was proving your point about 315 million people not being able to handle criticism.

I was beginning to think I was wrong about you because I've always figured you were smarter and more grounded than that.

At the same time though, do turn your tele off.

What? Everywhere I look I see apologetic, self hating guilt driven Americans falling all over themselves to criticize their own country.

The rednecks going "'Murica" and waving flags all over the place wont even stop talking shit about their government and it's policies. They might insist its the "greatest country in the world" but as the video satirizes they have no idea why and have been swearing up and down it's been "going to hell in a handbasket" for years.

I think we do criticism very well.
