Not sure who Eric Church is. I do like George Jones, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams (both Sr. & Jr., but not III) and Johnny Cash. I've seen all of them live (but not Sr. or III) and don't know too many contemporary country stars today - unless Brad Paisley or Kenny Chesney are considered contemporary.

Eric is a good guy. Used to hang out at the same bar in Nashville as I did. His brother is a songwriter as well. He is one of the few country artists that sing about Cannabis in their songs too.

I am a serious Eric Church fan. I feel like with alot of his music, it grows on you over time. I am usually not sure about it the first time I hear it, then I ended up loving it. I think he is just really trying to be "different".
