Very interesting ….. Herbert Hoover, an orphan, mining company executive, worth 75 million, donated Presidential salary to charity.

Are these numbers translated into todays value? Not sure if it was possible to have that many millions back then.

I thought it would have been cooler to see the numbers when they entered or something as they report that. I know Clinton was less then a milloinaire as my net worth was greater then his when he became president.

Truman had nothing, after being president. He went back to live in his mother in laws house . They started the president pension because of him

Founding Fathers were landed gentry, following their era you see many men of humble means became President, which is true to the ideals the country was formed on.

I read a book on Gerald Ford for a Political Science course, according to the book he was the biggest bagman in the history of Congress, but they were different times and he was a well liked and respected congressman.

The money is buried in some account owned a corporation that is owned by an off shore company that has no direct link to Bush.

Let's be honest here - you don't make it all the way to the White House by being stupid. Obama just made a comment about visiting all fifty-seven states, but I wouldn't call him stupid either. Bush ran our country into the ground, but again, I wouldn't exactly call him stupid - He made it all the way to the White House.
