Kill any bears yet this year?

I used to be a hunter in my younger years but I quit killing wild life many years ago. I have had to repel a bear more than one time with gun fire but I will only kill a bear if there is not an alternative.

So do you just walk out your back door and go into the woods or are you heading off the state Forrest's and so forth?

I live in a small town with hills...forest...lakes...rivers...bay nearby...but my hide away is a couple of hours drive away. It is a place that I stumbled upon about seven years ago on one of my trips into the wild.

I am giving some thought to not going back out until around the 1st of April...as the rainy season should be over by then.
