Never really liked Matthew, watched a couple of his movies in the past, he just seems like an arrogant dumbass.

Leo on the other hand I do like and always did. I would rather see Leo get an oscar he deserves it big time.

I think the first movie I watched with Dicaprio was the basketball diaries, anyone remembers that one? Great movie!

It is better to have a lot of people wondering why you haven't won an Oscar then to have a lot of people wondering why you have.

it probably would have been a rather high class get together wouldn't it? not an after party that people of this forum would think in the first instance. the grammy's, that was likely that after party.

I disagree. I would take an undeserved Oscar and the accompanying increased opportunities and inflated paychecks over worthless plaudits from my peers every single time.

I guess it depends on who you are. For example, the girl that won Best Supporting Actress will see her life change because of that. She was going to get offers and make money just from her performance in that movie and the nomination, but after winning she is going to cash in.

DiCaprio is one of the biggest movie stars in the world. He can get a movie made simply by agreeing to be in it. He works with the best directors in the biz. He would likely not gain much, as far as size of paycheck and job opportunities, by winning an Oscar.

I dislike this kind of logic. Finding something that is even worse. "It could be worse" that can be said everywhere and about anything...

I just lost my job.
It is better to lose the job then lose your health.

It is better to keep half income than do not have it at all.

I mean I could understand it as a joke if somebody got an oscar instead and was not wroth of it, but since this is not the case it is pointless remark, imho.

For the most part, I had the same feelings towards Matthew. However, after seeing his performances in a couple movies this last year, Mud and Dallas Buyers Club, I have a new found respect for him as an actor.

Hope he wins someday, he is indeed one of the greatest. Christian Bale is one of the greatest too in my opinion.

Bah, who cares about the oscar. I bet Leo's paycheck for that movie blew Matthew's out of the water and more than made up for him not winning that tiny little statue.
