Do you still play the lottery and what's the most you have ever won ???

I've played the UK lottery since it first started in 1994 and the most i have ever won is about £135 :helpme

I play EuroMillions only now and again. Never won anything worthwhile on that either.

Maybe i'm building up to the big win !! :1orglaugh

Manfap 03-06-2014 11:04 AM

Most weeks.
I've won 500quid on the spanish football lottery they have. like the pools (you pick 15 matches.)

Normal Lottery, probably about 50 quid most ever won.
Christmas lottery the big bastard 4 billion in prizes, dont usually do it as its 20 euros but have got my money back the 2 times I did do it.

I play what they call here in the US 'Scratch Off' games. Where you scratch for prizes. This is what gives us ghetto folk hope.

Every time I am in the states I play the Crosswords scratch offs. I have a buddy who hit 20k on one once, my highest is 50 bucks. lol

TurboAngel 03-06-2014 11:23 AM

I won $250 when I chose the pick 4 once. I was one number off.

A few weeks ago I won money. This was for the big draw a few weeks ago, hundreds of millions of dollars. The gas station I buy lottery tickets at has a little scanner machine we use to see if we won after the drawing, and usually it says "winner $5" or "winner $20". This time it said "winner - contact lottery commission". My heart jumped into my throat and I'm like "fuck all you bitches, I'm buying a fucking island in Hawaii". Turns out I only won $200, and the gas station can only pay out upto $100.

The most I ever won was $600 on a scratcher. Ironically it was the first lottery ticket I ever bought.

I rarely play but as a kid I won $50.

My dad used to play about once a week. He's won $5,000- $10,000 before.

A schoolteacher at my elementary school won double digit millions. I think around 20-50 million The school was well taken care of for a while. Of course she quit!

CAHEK 03-06-2014 12:09 PM

i won free play

The mistake i made years ago was i picked the same numbers each week, which means i'm scared to miss a week in the event that my numbers appear the one week i don't have it on.

Which knowing my luck, is very possible... :1orglaugh:Oh crap

Bryan G 03-06-2014 12:12 PM

$80 lol...

I do the same thing- I play numbers based on my family members' birthdays. You'd want to hang yourself if the numbers hit on a week you didn't play. So what I do to make sure I never miss is to play six months at a time. It's twice a week so I fill out my numbers on my slip and check the 52 plays or 26 weeks, which is six months. Then I set my calendar to make sure i don't forget six months later. That way I never miss and I also don;t have to waste my precious time standing on line with a bunch of degenerate gamblers twice a week buying scratch off tickets and such.

_Richard_ 03-06-2014 12:44 PM

i count it by how much i save by not playing, rather than how much i win by playing

so far, i believe i am $2400-5000 (10 years) depending on the gambling addiction severity!

Penny24Seven 03-06-2014 12:47 PM

you will never win big but last Sept I went to by my mom a card but bought two lotto tickets because cards are an even bigger waste of money.
I said happy birthday mom and put the tickets on her gift and said that was the card. She won ten bucks on the first one and was all fucking excited LOL and then she won 10 thousand on the next one and is still talking about it today

I spend maybe $20 a year, the entertainment value of picturing all the shit I will buy is worth the statistical near-impossibility of winning. I've like won my dollar back maybe twice, that's it, so that means I'm due...

dehash 03-06-2014 01:26 PM

80$ couple times
I usually wait until it hit may be 500 000 000 $
I just believe if you win - then it only once in a life. Sad if you win 5 000 000 $ and then have to pay 50% tax.

you have good chance to win something :)

Not even slightly ironic, but well done for trying.

There's a special place in Hell reserved for the condescending gits who think they're all smart correcting the use of "ironic".

edit: it's true though :) :)

Jel 03-06-2014 04:38 PM

most here was £96-ish

I do however, personally know 4 jackpot winners (2 were in syndicates (the same one), and shared the jackpot, the other 2 it was their own ticket, and they shared the jackpot), and another friend's parents' won 300k-ish for 5 numbers and the bonus ball.

I'm guessing that's quite a high-odds thing to personally know those, which surely means it's as close as I'll ever get to 6 numbers lol

LaLExpo 03-06-2014 07:00 PM

Had 4 out of 6 correct numbers and was only about $50,00 worth :(

Ross 03-06-2014 07:08 PM

About 20 years ago my mum won $5500 or so on the UK lottery, I remember sitting watching the draw, she had the first 5 numbers in a row, it felt like an eternity for the 6th to drop and when it finally did, she had it on the line above the one she need it on lol. Still a decent little payout for her at the time. I was only 10 years old and $5500 felt like a lot of money.

Spunky 03-06-2014 07:16 PM

A couple hundred bucks
