Webmastering makes you fat

I gained 20lbs - living proof.

Maybe webmaster conventions should consider fat-camp presentations... lol

Klen 03-09-2014 01:54 AM

Yeah i got 115 kg,then started with diet, went to 87 kg,and now i am on 92 kg.But plan to strip it to 75 kg once i deal with some things. It is quite easy as longest there are no distractions.

CurrentlySober 03-09-2014 01:59 AM

a sedentary lifestyle and bad diet made you fat. Dont spend all your waking hours sitting on your arse eating doritos, get your work done and then log off, or allocate an amount of time to being on the computer and make sure you have some time allotted to getting up and going for a walk, or a swim, a ride, a run, play some sport, go to the gym... ANYTHING that gets you moving.

Find a way to watch or listen to your favorite show/news programs on a tablet or phone.
Instead of a veg out, go to the gym and find an elliptical machine and crank for 60-90 minutes, or even more, 3-4 times a week.

-You're weight will keep down
-You're legs and ass will be beautiful
-You're heart rate will get below 60 (40-50)
-You'll get through all your news/podcasts

Anyway, that's the way to do it. Otherwise I'd be fatter than hell myself. Still have issues with food as it's nothing for me to eat a large pizza or large quantity of anything. Calories can still come off, you just need to be proactive when you sit on your ass all day.

CarlosTheGaucho 03-09-2014 03:45 AM

It's exactly the opposite.

Imagine you commute to work, can't organize your time and eat irregularly especially in local bistros - that will ruin your body pretty fast.

Now if you can organize your time, can cook your own meals, eat regularly and schedule a workout here and then at flexible hours - there's no better setup.

Webmastering doesn't make you fat - you are.

EddyTheDog 03-09-2014 03:58 AM

bingo and if you can't take 30 minutes a day to exercise, you're doing something wrong.

I'm still anorexic and sit on my ass quite a bit. If I quit smoking I'd probably get fat. :thumbsup

lonerunner 03-09-2014 07:46 AM

No, webmastering don't make you fat. Being lazy to do other things, eating bad food, eating in bad time, and constantly having some snaps on your desk and there you go, you got fat.

I have gone through 82kg 185 height full muscle no fat, to 72kg when i stopped with exercise, to 80kg all in stomach when i was just sleeping, working and eating snacks. to 80kg back in muscle for last year.

So Whatever you do always take 2 hours daily to exercise you can skip some day but not whole week. And change from eating snacks to drinking tea. that worked for me.

The nice thing about certain drugs is the thought of food just disappears. :)

I'm genetically predisposed to overeat, from my DNA analysis even. As long as I keep it (my mind) occupied I'm good.

yuu.design 03-09-2014 08:38 AM

emmm, after 13 years working i just gained around 5/8 kg ... i think its ok, since i just started drinking at my 26 and im 32 now

Jayblack187 03-09-2014 09:08 AM

Webmastering DOESNT makes you fat, What you eat makes you fat

i eat 5 small meals a day, every time my alarm goes off i eat

8am (if i'm going gym high carbs)
11am
2pm
5pm
8pm last meal (something light)

I think this is the only reason im not any fatter, is cause I actually get to cook what I want, not order-out at work all the time.

When I was doing sales, I was in great shape on my feet all day, but in a call center... heh.. it sucked.

I'm not a big eater anymore. I used to inhale a 12" pizza then want more.. now, two pieces and my stomach hurts from stretching. I just snack snack snack

Would that work for a drinker - I mean can you still drink booze as much as you like? - I assume it would just flow through...

Ferus 03-09-2014 11:12 AM

I guess you needed an excuse. It's your choice to be fat. Dont blame your job.

Bourke 03-09-2014 10:10 PM

eat healthy,
move more,
lift heavy things.

Thats as true as a poo!

If you cant find time to eat well, and do some excise, when you are essentially 'You're own boss' than when can you?

Its no like you are doing a 9-5 stacking shelves at the store, and you need to ask your supervisor for ten mins break at 2.34 pm to run about the parking lot to exercise...

if you're working from home, you should really be hitting the gym every morning

cardio or whatever for the 'eww gym' types

will increase overall productivity for the entire day

Ross 03-10-2014 01:09 PM

I actually joked to my personal trainer about him coming to a show one time and Traffic Force sponsoring morning workout classes, he loved the idea, of course he would, free trip. I wonder if this would be successful and which of the shows it would be best suited for... PHX springs to mind with the great weather and available space. I might look into it further, probably too late to do something like that this year now.

I work on a PC 10 hours a day and am on it mostly on the weekend. I workout 4-5x a week 60-90 minutes and follow a strict diet. Sitting at about 6% bf right now. In fact I'm just about ready to compete in a Men's Physique Competition if I manipulate my diet for another couple of weeks. Been on the fence about that one...

Manfap 03-10-2014 01:32 PM

Get a dog.. forces you to go on an hour walk daily.

That is a good idea. Do you ever force yourself to eat even if you are not hungry?

My choices and my choices alone are why I'm fat. Sitting on my ass in front of the computer certainly doesn't help... Maybe I should make a choice to get up and move around some.

if you get "hungry" you are waiting to long in between meals. If you feel hungry your body starts to go into a sort of saving mode. In my experience I lost the most weight by never being hungry, or full :) I tried all sorts of "programs", but using the one below, the fat melted off and I feel great, strong, healthy and sleep like a baby.

I lost 85 lbs of fat in 6 months and got back to my college weight.....

35 min of cardio 7 days a week + lift 2 days (workout first thing before eating)

Mon: 5 small meals (1300-1600 calories total....lean protein, veggies, some fruit ONLY)
Tues: ALL Juice (Kale, Celery, carrot, apple)
Wed: 5 small meals (1300-1600 calories total....lean protein, veggies, some fruit ONLY)
Thurs: ALL Juice (Kale, Celery, carrot, apple)
Fri: ALL Juice (Kale, Celery, carrot, apple)
Sat: 5 small meals (1300-1600 calories total....lean protein, veggies, some fruit ONLY)
Sun: 5 small meals (1300-1600 calories total....lean protein, veggies, some fruit ONLY)

PLUS----> one / two "cheat" meals a week. For me, I didn't pig out on 2 pizzas, cake etc. I just enjoyed whatever looked good on the menu (surf and turf, pasta, bread etc). I LOVE good food and could never stick to the above program if I couldn't enjoy good food once and awhile when we all go out.
