Promoting a Model
 

Hey folks

Ok to start, newbie, and from reading here the last few weeks fully expect to have a new asshole torn :P Not expecting any great secrets to be divulged but a bit of a push in the right direction would be great.

A friend of mine has started back camming after a few years away and naturally has lost most of her old regulars. Last few years I've built several sites for local businesses, simple sme start up shops and stuff. Also read a lot on blackhatworld over the last year. Made a few white label cam sites but haven't really promoted them.

She has asked me to help her out by affiliating for her in the hope of getting traffic and also throwing some work my way. She is nude/fetish. most of her regulars at the moment are fetish related. She can give me photos/videos 'to order' so there will always be fresh content.

Just to run by what plan of action I'm taking at the moment. Main membership site mostly focusing on the fetish end. Several different social platforms twitter/blogger etc feeding to the main site (have a dot com of her performer name). Link from membership site via affiliate link to her cam profile page. Regular updates to social sites with new content.

In regards of money after hosting fees etc we have agreed to split anything from the membership site 50/50. Does this sound about right?

I think the best way for her to go about this is she becomes a Streamate model (lots of built in traffic already and a good fetish customer base) and she gets the standard 35% and you sign on as a regular affiliate and make your 40% (is that what it is? I forget) for sending traffic to her room. It is the cleanest way to do things IMO.

edit: Oh whoops I think I misunderstood your post. You are talking about sending traffic to her membership site not her cam room? Can't help you there then :)

That sounds interesting and had not really considered taking the cam outside of the site she is on. Was aware of paypal per skype alright but I'll talk this over with her. Nice one.

Well yeah sending traffic to her membership site which would in turn have a link to her cam profile which she already has. I know the internal natural traffic she gets from the cam site will not have my finger print on it as I wouldn't of sent it so I won't be earning anything from that end. I'm thinking also by having the membership site as a 'buffer' it might help me avoid any possible account bans from the social sites as I won't be putting an affiliate link on them, just a straight dot com link.

I don't recommend 50/50, I did this once. You're going to end up doing a whole lot of work while she bangs out a few vids and says "well I'm the one naked online". HOWEVER! If I knew then what I do now about advertising and affiliating. I'd do it again.

So paid advertising is something I should be looking at down the line ? As far as I knew adwords wasn't ideal for this type of campaign so I'm guessing there must some equivalents out there.

I should have phrased that better. "With what I know about social media and advertising now". I'm so far from pro at this though, don't get me wrong.

So you're doing a solo girl member site for her? Have her record her cam shows and ad them in a cam section of the members area along with the other stuff. Easy content? Or did I miss the point and the whole reason is to drive traffic to her cam site so they pay to watch her live?

Yes that's kind of the line I'm think along. A membership site with locked content for members only, vids/pics, perhaps some type of section for subs. And yes also looking to send traffic to her cam site along my affiliate link.

How does this this sound to you? My thinking now also is if I can get this right with her and it proves worthwhile paywise I can scale it and approach other girls with an already working system in place.

1. watermark all vids and pix
2. start a clip store and start selling clips on clips4sale, fetish stuff sells there nicely
3. start making the site, start selling clips or memberships there and her skype/chat minutes.
