What is a good video player for Wordpress?
 

Hey everyone,

I have been checking out different video players for Wordpress and have yet to find a decent one.

I found one called VOOplayer. It requires setting up an account so I haven't tried it yet, but does anyone have any experience with it?

P.S. looking for ones that work with MP4

Jwplayer is always a good choice. I use it on several sites.

Yep. It's html5 with flash fallback.

I hope the demo version is a decent enough test so I can see if I want to buy or not.

Crap, I looked into it and it seems that adult content is not allowed using their player.

Going to have to keep searching. :(

Either JWPlayer or Flowplayer. I personally prefer the first one. You can use JW for anything you might like, except you can't stream videos from their servers (hosted videos service provided by JW). Please correct me if I was wrong.

I did check it out, ran the demo version and tested it. You can link to hosted video files with JW, but their terms and conditions say no adult content, and I searched and found people asking and getting response saying not allowed.

I sent an email to VOOplayer to see if it allows for adult material.

Looks like jwplayer got greedy. You used to just be able to download it and use it on a site for cheap. I looked around and it looks like videojs or flowplayer are the best choices now.

Im doing a bit of testing lately with videojs and it works great so far, although it's html5 as i understood it have flash fallback and support mp4 files. It's very lightweight and easy to set. I tested it with few browsers (latest releases) ie10, firefox, opera, chrome, chromium, safari, and with phones too like xperia and even my old nokia e63, it worked on every device and browser for me.

I just got a response from VOOplayer support. They allow 18+ Adult Websites to use the purchased player. (Not free version)

Just wanted to let people know. I haven't test it yet but from what the website says it should be very good.

I made a search for best wordpress video players and I found Hana FLV Player. Here is the plugin link https://wordpress.org/plugins/hana-flv-player/
It supports mp4 files and flv as far as I know.

I have had good lick with Easy Video Player as well as Video.js - HTML5 Video Player , They both work well for self hosted video as well as remote.

Nice suggestion, I haven't tried this one yet so I'm going to try it out. May not be what I am looking for because if the player itself is flash based it still won't show up for mobile, even with mp4 vids, I think.
