Walking dead went to shit officially?

Let's have a poll :Oh crap

Markul 03-17-2014 03:14 PM

I got to season two, then decided it had turned into a soap opera full of morons.

signupdamnit 03-17-2014 03:16 PM

Oh shit. I forget to watch it. Hold on. I'll be back in an hour or two. :1orglaugh

If you forgot to watch it, I think it's pretty safe to say that it isn't captivating you anymore.

Klen 03-17-2014 03:20 PM

Lol this is like 6th thread about how it went to shit.Didn't watched yesterday episode yet,was it boring like 2 before it ?

seeandsee 03-17-2014 03:21 PM

much better if you ask me, some shit crazy happening finally

Jim_Gunn 03-17-2014 03:26 PM

That last episode was crazy. I am still enjoying the show.

Klen 03-17-2014 03:27 PM

Also watching Darrly to go emo when drunk was kind a kill of his tough redneck image

Yes, some good drama in the outcome but some very horrible, wooden acting and bad writing to get there.

American Psycho 03-17-2014 03:42 PM

I figured she was 15 or 16 on the show. The actress is actually 29.

Robbie 03-17-2014 03:49 PM

The episode on Sunday night was fucking INTENSE.

It is common thing in movies - make 30 year olds act in teenager roles....

SPOILER :warning

I fucking hated that Lizzy in that episode. Even more than Karl in the first episode of the season or sheriff's wife in previous seasons :1orglaugh

Penny24Seven 03-17-2014 03:57 PM

was surprised when Beth had sex with a zombie

bhutocracy 03-17-2014 04:13 PM

This episode was WAAAAYYYYY better than the last couple of episodes. I was expecting them to draw that drama out across at least another episode. It actually dealt with something interesting, ie mental illness in the apocalypse and what happens when there aren't meds or hospital infrastructure. There have been way less people in the groups highlighted dealing with a lack of meds from chronic illness than would happen in real life. Fuck I watched a few seasons of Goldrush and every other motherfucker is addicted to oxycontin.

*Oblique Spoliers*
At first I was all "Do it - Do it now before someone else dies!" and I was half expecting it to end there while covered in blood with a split second decision but then it calmed down and got all "Just look at the flowers" and it got very Old Yeller and was actually pretty moving all things considered.

It's certainly the least dumb episode in ages.

Bingo.

Once the cop's wife started banging the other cop I was done...

john1975 03-17-2014 04:22 PM

I only saw 1 episode...and that was like a month ago.

I COULDN'T understand wtf people were watching this sht over....was just that stupid and boring. Like a drama series from the 80's....which bordered on mentally ill.

SiMpLe 03-17-2014 04:52 PM

I went from Walking Dead junkie to a Cosmos junkie in two episodes. Never looked back.

The new Cosmos series is great. I love both shows.

i recorded both Cosmos episodes, but haven't watched yet.

Surprised their talking about the last episode having horrible ratings..

VikingMan 03-17-2014 05:46 PM

I think they are giving extra screen time to a few actors as favors. These kids are likely related to people with connections. They are not the best child actors available that is for sure.

Also the host for the Cosmos show on Fox was a bad choice.

brassmonkey 03-17-2014 05:52 PM

with the piano playing thought i was watching young and the restless. :Oh crap R.I.P. Jeanne Cooper

I just finished watching it myself. I agree. This episode was way better than the last one. I find the climax a little...unbelievable...(spoiler alert- do not read further) if she was that bad I don't think she could have been functional for that time and it would have been a much bigger issue earlier.

I agree with you about them stretching things out. I find that very annoying. I know they need to get people hooked but it makes me just want to not watch it until the season is over and then watch all episodes in one marathon.

The show is still a bit too much on the drama side. My preference is more Zombie action. If I wanted a soap opera there are many other choices. I still like the show. If they keep it like this episode I won't complain too much. But some of the other ones...ugh.

VS_Jeff 03-17-2014 06:19 PM

This whole 2nd half of the season has been slow and on a completely different track. It's not action-packed, the way I like it, but I think the writing and acting is really great.

bronco67 03-17-2014 06:28 PM

This show has been a little shitty the last few episodes, but it's built up way too much credit with me to abandon it yet. I kind of understand what they're doing with the separation of the characters, but they could move on now.

Once they get back together though, people will complain that its too monotonous and they're in the same place too long.

Last night was pretty hardcore at the end.

I have a feeling over these last two episodes the group, or most of it, will find their way to Terminus. Then next season they can start from there and we can see how that works out for them. I would assume it won't go well.

signupdamnit 03-17-2014 06:35 PM

I still think it would be cool if they started all over in a different town and showed it again with the world first falling apart with different characters. Then eventually after some die off have them meet up with some of the people we know.

I think many people miss all the action you see when the world is first going to shit and everyone is trying to figure it out and what to do.

Of course contracts and having to pay the actors probably makes it hard just to abandon them for 10 episodes or so.

Correct feeling, they will definitely reach terminus. The only thing that keeps me watching it :)

Tight idea, but do you think they thought of this for a minute?
I mean your post sounds like that was an actual option they considered..

Surely you know this from your years of experience as a Hollywood casting agent right, lol?

And if you don't like Neil deGrasse Tyson, what other tv friendly astrophysicist would you put in his place as the host of the new Cosmos?

They could do it as two shows for a while. When TWD is on hiatus they could air the sister show that does as you say. After a few seasons of the sister show telling those stories they could combined the two into one.

It could be similar to CSI and CSI:Miami, same idea, different locations only these wouldn't suck and they would eventually merge.

This is a cool idea, I think the first season was the most exciting for me.

I don't know if the kids know anyone on the show or not, but they both have pretty impressive resumes.

Casting kids is never easy.

I switched to being on the side of the walkers about three episodes back.

It is the highest rated show on cable by a long ways (the next closest has about half as many viewers) and I read earlier that this last episode drew in 12.3 million viewers which means it was the most watched on Sunday (broadcast and cable combined). That number puts it around the #6-#7 highest rated show on TV.

Phoenix 03-17-2014 09:44 PM

last episode was as they say cray cray

I happen to think this season if very good. I like a story that is a slow burn so long as it eventually pays off. I'm willing to go for the ride here.
