Black students are more likely to be suspended from U.S. public schools ? even as tiny preschoolers.
Even preschoolers are getting suspended from U.S. public schools ? and they're disproportionately black, a trend that continues up through the later grades.
Data to be released Friday by the Education Department's civil rights arm finds that black children represent about 18 percent of children enrolled in preschool programs in schools, but almost half of the students suspended more than once. Six percent of the nation's districts with preschools reported suspending at least one preschool child. Advocates have long said that get-tough suspension and arrest policies in schools have contributed to a "school-to-prison" pipeline that snags minority students, but much of the emphasis has been on middle school and high school policies. This data shows the disparities starting in the youngest of children. Earlier this year, the Obama administration issued guidance encouraging schools to abandon what it described as overly zealous discipline policies that send students to court instead of the principal's office. But, even before the announcement, school districts have been adjusting policies that disproportionately affect minority students. Overall, the data shows that black students of all ages are suspended and expelled at a rate that's three times higher than that of white children. Even as boys receive more than two-thirds of suspensions, black girls are suspended at higher rates than girls of any other race or most boys. The data doesn't explain why the disparities exist or why the students were suspended. Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Attorney General Eric Holder were to appear at J.O. Wilson Elementary School Friday in Washington to discuss the data. Nationally, one million children were served in public preschool programs, with about 60 percent of districts offering preschool during the 2011-2012 school year, according to the data. The data shows nearly 5,000 preschoolers suspended once. At least 2,500 were suspended more than once. Daniel Losen, director of the Center for Civil Rights Remedies for the Civil Rights Project at UCLA, said the findings are disturbing because the suspended preschoolers aren't likely presenting a danger, such as teenager bringing a gun to school. "Almost none of these kids are kids that wouldn't be better off with some support from educators," Losen said. "Just kicking them out of school is denying them access to educational opportunity at such a young age. Then, as they come in for kindergarten, they are just that much less prepared." Losen said it's appropriate to discipline a 4-year-old, but a more appropriate response might be moving them to a different educational setting with additional services. "Most preschool kids want to be in school," Losen said. "Kids just don't understand why they can't go to school." Judith Browne Dianis, co-director of the Advancement Project, a think tank that specializes in social issues affecting minority communities, has been advocating against the overly zealous use of suspensions against African American students. Unfortunately, she said it didn't surprise her to hear that even younger black students were being kicked out of school at a high rate. "I think most people would be shocked that those numbers would be true in preschool, because we think of 4- and 5-years-olds as being innocent," she said. "But we do know that schools are using zero tolerance policies for our youngest also, that while we think our children need a head start, schools are kicking them out instead." http://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireSto...nsion-22998808 |

So the schools should make special rules for kids based on their color?
|
it's because kids from urban areas come from a home with uneducated shithead obama phone parents who have no rules/discipline at home.
then the kids show up at school like...WHAT THE FUCK ARE RULES? and they can't transition from home to school. so they flip out because a teacher won't let them run around the room like they do at home nonstop. then they fail for 12 years straight because they have uneducated parents who refuse to check homework, so after a week of that, the kid stops doing it entirely in like first grade, so they're uneducated for their whole life starting that young. the study is mostly true due to the density of lazy unmotivated black folks with no values whatsoever, who live in often overpopulated areas because they get paid on tax day for having 9 kids. having kids is more work than having a job is, and the black girls are like the biggest fucking idiots on earth because they won't take a god damn pill every day. they'd rather have 6 fucking kids by the time they're 22. no offense, but who the FUCK bangs a fat black bitch with 5 kids and makes the 6th? she has to be torn the hell up by now. and if you know she got 5 kids, why the fuck you bangin her? this shit doesn't happen that much in the suburbs because those people have values and work their ass off. this shit doesn't happen that much in urban mexican/latino communities because those people have values and work their ass off. you don't see 10 black dudes with lawnmowers and shovels outside home depot at 5am looking for work, do you? walk up to any urban public school at 3 and you'll see 18 year old black ladies with brand new hair/nails poppin, four kids, better cell phone than you, always in pajamas, loud as fuck and can't speak properly, and haven't ever worked a fucking day in their life. same bitches who have dumbshit kids getting suspended, then cursing out the principal like it's their fault the asshole kid pulls fire alarms, throws chairs out windows, gropes a teachers tits, can't spell homework at 15, and has straight F's. some neighborhoods need to get their shit together. |

There are lots of black families who are doing fine, have been for 150 years, but it's still a minority obviously. |

"Stop that!" "Behave!" "What are you dong?!" "Hey!" The kids aren't really doing anything, but they get scolded anyway. This goes on all day long with many low income parents. Their children develop a desensitized view of authority figures. So they go to school and the teacher politely tells them to stay quiet and that passive scolding means nothing to the child. The reality is that the teacher would have to get a paddle and spank this type of child for them to listen, but that is of course illegal in modern society. |

No, that would be racist :upsidedow |
My kids go to school where they are in the minority. My daughter is one of 6 white children out of 120 kindergarteners.
I have never seen little kids as wild and unmanageable as some of these little black kids. |
Now at days we blame everybody except the parents :(

You guys are aware of the new order from the Obumer administration that says an equal percentage of white kids need to be suspended as black kids? Yes I know it sounds crazy but the world has become crazy and this is just one of the latest examples. This is why you have white honor students stepping in the protect white girls from being sexually harassed and then the black kid attacks the white honor student and the white honor student ends up getting suspended.

Suddenly this year something clicked and she's now a straight A student... We are quick to blame the parents, but I don't believe this is always the case. Sometimes the kids just aren't motivated or in the right place. |
I blame white people.

I'm just proud to say that for the hundreds or thousands of blacks that have broken the 10 second barrier in the 100m and the 20 second barrier for the 200m, we finally have a purely white European that did it... only one so far. :)

Most of you guys don't even know any black people in real life. Stop spreading hate, worry about yourselves. I bet you can't blame blacks for the decline of this industry.
