got one now that came in last week at x,xxx and I got him up to low xx,xxx currently but still off what I think the domain is worth so trying some creative financing to make it work.

Few $8 ones sold in the last few years at 1, 6.5, 7.5 K etc... as basically everything I've sold in the last 11 years in the 1-10k range were all $8 expired pick ups. Think the most I've ever paid for a domain was $100 but have sold/brokered well into 6 figures.

He lives on gfy vicariously through me.

Do you list them on sedo etc or do you contact specific persons/comapnies that you know would be interested in those domains?

Have I contacted people yes but only on lower end domains as the equivalent of door to door sales, highest ROI comes from the buyer seeking you out first which takes quality domains, distribution channels, patience and not really needing the money. :2 cents:

Keep in mind I have over 500 mainstream .coms aged from 1998-2014 so with that many inquiries are higher than if I only owned 25. Although quality will always trump quantity.

I've done the best with keyword .coms that describe generic products/services and keyword/brandables have started to pick up in the last few years.

Don't sell a shitload of domains but when ya only have $8 and a few years renewals invested into a name doesn't take many 1-10k sales to hold up the business model. Competition is higher than the old days but if ya buy...

domains that have advertisers paying for the term in google

That is what I was thinking, the main thing is somehow to automate checking process. I mean it is time consuming to check hundreds or thousands of domains against keyword/adword tool.
