Beware of this scammer

I got an email today from someone asking to buy my domains. Did some research and found this was nothing but a scam. I was asking $345 for my domain and he offered me $5000. Right there I found this suspicious. Beware.

-----------------
First Email

Hello!

I'm a broker of an investor from France who wants to buy your domain.com.

My client has $431 000 budget for 40-50 domains. Please specify your asking price in the subject of your message.

Our company is in hosting business. We also provide brokerage services for investors.

I'm working with many investors from USA, Canada, China, UAE etc. If you have other domains for sale please email them to me. I will offer them to my clients.

Please let me know the best way to pay you: IBAN/Wire transfer, Check, Western Union or Paypal. If it's your first time sale I can help you with the transfer process.

Best regards,

Isaac Franke

Second email after I replied to him

Please note I don't buy your domain. I'm a representative. My client is going to buy your domain. He pays me a commission on every purchase - 10% -15% of the sale price. So I'm very motivated to finish this deal. I'm ready to help you with the process, transfer and any other things.

I'm not interested in sales under 1000 usd. I suggest you to change your price to $5000. Of course, the budget of my client is not unlimited but he can afford this sum. Ok?

What country are you from? Do you sell a domain or a web site? Web site is not necessary. My client is more interested in the domain name only.

He is also interested in purchasing gambling, accounting, insurance and adult names.

How can we pay you (PayPal, Western Union, escrow.com etc.)? If this is your first time domain sale I may help you with the sale/transfer process.

Are you a member of domain seller communities/forums? Probably, we know each other under some nicknames?

------------------------------------------

I then replied to him telling him I found this suspicious. He never replied back. BEWARE!!

Yeah this scam has been around for a number of years. They say their buyer wants the name and is willing to pay for it but that they first need an appraisal before proceeding.

yeah, an old trick, some scammers are even idiots to register domains for scamming with godaddy. Immediately i check if he is at godaddy, after looking at his email address, and then report his domain with the complete proof of his email address and this is how another scammer has lost a domain name.

i advise you to do the same, don't ignore it, just report his scam tricks to their domain registrar with a complete proof of his email material.

Ya...that's probably a good idea, but I have a feeling he has quite a few. He replied to me with 2 different email addresses

Probably he has many more but if everybody started to report those idiots then i'm sure that did this scam will start to diminish.

I mean, at least if you register a domain for this actions, then do it by the book, take a look where the pirate bay are registering their domains :))

I remember that one scammer had a pretty decent domain name from 98' and sincerely this was the only time where i preferred to warn him that if i receive one more email from that domain address, i will report it and he will take a hard loss

I've reported him to Google Gmail. I don't know where to report for the other email address he used.

That other email address is from his domain that's registered at GoDaddy.
