Gonna miss Piers Morgan-CNN

I guess speaking loud about polarizing issues in USA gets you fired...Specially when criticism is expressed by someone with great talent but clear UK accent. How disappointing for otherwise top news network like CNN. Gonna miss you man...

Many people on TV have a made a long career of that without ever getting fired.

His show just sucked.

scuba steve 04-01-2014 11:40 AM

Guy was a joke. Couldn't interview or debate

~Ray 04-01-2014 11:46 AM

came off snobby

over38 04-01-2014 12:04 PM

His ratings were horrible - low ratings - no show :(

Scott McD 04-01-2014 12:16 PM

3 cheers for Piers !!

Rochard 04-01-2014 02:02 PM

I am not going to miss him at all. He didn't get fired because he spoke out about important issues loudly, but because no one cared about him or what he had to say. He was British and that was a turn off from the start, and when he got loud about gun control he completely misunderstood our gun culture and came off looking like a Brit was trying to tell us what was wrong with us.

I think that was more of an attempt to get viewers and it failed.

JA$ON 04-01-2014 02:05 PM

bad ratings gets you fired, what you talk about is a distant second

TurboAngel 04-01-2014 02:08 PM

I can't stand him.

In other news, CNN today announced that they would be changing the name of the network from "CNN" to "The Flight 370 Channel"

When questioned a spokesman for the cable-news network said "We have decided that covering the Flight 370 Mystery for only 23 and a half hours a day just isn't enough to cram down our viewers throats, we need full 24 hour solid coverage of this one story with even more endless speculation and expert opinions in the absence of any hard facts"

Ted Turner could not be reached for comment.

(goodbye Morgan, you douchebag) :action-sm

It was a weird gig for him.. he's more of a print Journo.
Never really did much tv stuff in the UK.

kane 04-02-2014 01:56 AM

Aside from not being a great interviewer his main flaw was that he was too moderate. Yes, he spoke out against guns and some other things, but these days it seems like the only way shows like this on news channels get a lot of ratings is if their host really leans to one side or the other.

He didn't seem to have a point of view that a particular demographic could latch onto and if you go after the intellectual center you will fail because they have better things to do than watch your show.

CurrentlySober 04-02-2014 01:59 AM

I'm more than likely gonna miss the toilet next time I use it... :(

Good Times!!!! :thumbsup

MrBottomTooth 04-02-2014 05:15 AM

He had the personality of a snail. Very hard to watch.

I think he got fired because of the ongoing investigations into celeb/royal phone hacking in the UK.

I suspect UK police have questions to put to the past Mirror Editor and doubt CNN want to even come within a pubes length of that.

Actually what they need is someone who is flamboyant and opinionated, yes, but also has the capacity to be impartial and play the devil's advocate while remaining neutral in such a way that it's devastatingly entertaining, informative, and amusing, all the while having a good raport and the respect of basically everyone he or she interviews.

You know, like Larry King was.

michael.kickass 04-02-2014 08:46 AM

CNN is not the best place to speak out your mind. He should have known that, hence, he's an asshole.

King was getting terrible ratings when he his show was canceled as well. Honestly, I think the only reason they kept him around as long as they did is because of who he is.

Some of it too just may be CNN who seems to be struggling with ratings no matter what they do.
