I highly doubt their economy would be nowhere as high per capita as it is now. White people and Asian people (chinese etc) are the most productive and going forward in the world. If they had remained alone they would have ended up as Papua new Guinea or something along those lines.

I am afraid (some of that) is true - Aborigines are really not built for the modern world...
