He is potential to be a new clown. Right now his ratings are extremely high (up to 78%) because of the Ukrainian conflict (I believe he is so grateful to Ukrainian motherfuckers from Maydan). The only reason why people is not disturbed with all his laws is that nobody follow them. E.g. it is now forbidden to smoke in the public places. However you can smoke anywhere and nobody will fine you. Furthermore, almost all resultants/bars/cafes/pubs here officially allow smoking. They break the law, but nobody cares. Another example is ban on drinking/smoking scenes on TV and in cinema. There is such a law, however even the state TV channels showing movies/shows that contain consumption scenes of tabasco/alcohol/drugs even in the prime time (when kids are watching). So there are too many such restricting laws that just don't work, including a wide-promoted in the Western media so-called "anti-gay" law (there was no single case of its enforcement).

Dude, I've been to your country and I can say, you live an extremely boring life. Sure, our weather sucks big time comparing to Florida or California. Your roads are better too and actually that's all I love in the States. Everything else does not impress me at all: high taxes, suppressive laws, too many restrictions in the real life (I mean the actual restrictoions but not those fake ones as discussed in this thread) no free higher education, no free medicine etc. I know, you love your country because it's the most "free" and most "democratic" one, but believe me, there are many people who won't agree with you. I've been all around the World and I saw a lot to compare :2 cents:

P.S. And your women are mostly fat and ugly as hell, comrade :winkwink:

In theory - yes. In practice the governments do not need any laws to do whatever they what and you know that. Here I'll just put a definition which I've snatched from klinton: "a drone killer" :winkwink:

Not the case here. It looks that they just simple paying "patriots" making absolutely stupid and dead born laws. E.g. the ISP must keep ALL inbound and outbound traffic (not just logs!) for ALL its clients within 6 MONTHS. How a regular ISP with 100'000's of clients and 100+ Megabit channels could comply to such a law? In fact, the ISP's in Russia clear even the logs within two weeks because they "take too much space". So the law does not work and nobody cares. I really don't understand why they stamp these useless laws during last two years. We call our government a "crazy printer".

OY 05-06-2014 01:01 PM

Uhhmmmm... Just like it has been in USA for decades. Interesting. Russia is being Americanized!

Its ok for now, but what if they make a few more laws like these and then will enforce them all at once when needed?

Also if I remember correctly then there is some kind of law that you can't criticize the government ( http://www.independent.ie/world-news...-30091013.html )..

Both Russia and the USA are ruled by power-hungry hypocrites who make a shit-ton of $$$ for corporate interests behind the scenes, and will say/do anything to advance their agendas even if it's blatantly dishonest and unjust, and will go against their own professed beliefs if it serves their interests.

Everything else is just details.

Even in 2014 the US has the same policy.

"And copies of books, CDs or films containing swearing can only be distributed in a sealed package labeled "Contains obscene language," a Kremlin statement said."

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...l-advisory.jpg

http://twinfinite.net/wp-content/upl...edmsmaller.jpg

"According to state news agency ITAR-Tass, individuals caught using foul language face a fine of up to $70, while officials can be fined up to $40 and businesses nearly $1,400. They face a higher fine and a three-month suspension of business for repeated offenses."

http://www.fcc.gov/guides/obscenity-...-and-profanity
The FCC has defined profanity as ?including language so grossly offensive to members of the public who actually hear it as to amount to a nuisance.?

Massachusetts town OKs $20 fine for swearing in public

Exactly. Personally I found two those systems very similar. The only difference is people's attitude toward government and laws (just details of course). Sometimes I'm thinking about relocation, but I never wanted to live in the State (the USSR 2, no thanks). That could be some small EU country or most likely a country in Latin America or the Caribbeans where the government is not that obsessed about the regulating its citizens like in Russia or in the USA :2 cents:

Seriously though, I've never really bought the idea that present and future must be more liberal than the past. The BBC said the same thing - what year is it - when a Russian athlete made anti-gay statements during the Olympics. And Russia's "classical" Olympic opening ceremony seemed like a deliberate riposte to the post-modern British one.

2MuchMark 05-06-2014 07:39 PM

Could this be some kind of plot to make it easier to arrest Pussy Riot and keep them in jail, longer?

brentbacardi 05-06-2014 11:10 PM

I don't understand what all the hub bub is about...

shit, fuck, ass, crap, penis, vagina, penis in vagina

Everyone shits every day (Except for some really backed up people :Oh crap)

Most people fuck on a somewhat regular basis, so how is that offensive?

Everyone has an ass with an asshole.

Everyone has a penis or a vagina (a few have both or neither) and almost everyone is attracted to penis and/or vagina.

So what is so disgusting about peoples own bodies and normal bodily functions? Fucked up society. What is obscene about this stuff? :helpme

No, because:

1) they are not singing that on TV;
2) there is no jail time for breaking this law. Only a fine, which is 2500..3000 rubles (less than $100).

It's like a ban on smoking in public place (there is also a fine for it).

I doubt it is possible to detain someone for breaking an administrative (non-criminal) law. You can be fined for that but surely you can't be not jailed :2 cents:

Well summarized. This is no special law, it is pretty common in many countries. Yet some try to show their ignorance :)

Lucky for humanity, anti white propaganda is not in place in Russia, like it is in US.
