i think Mark Cuban is cool.

brassmonkey 05-23-2014 06:54 AM

now he thinks he's doctor phil

bronco67 05-23-2014 07:22 AM

He's absolutely right. Anyone who tries to crucify him for saying this should also look at themselves. There's no one in America who hasn't had a racist/bigoted thought before. Even the most liberal, tree hugging hippie has had those thoughts, whether or not they'd ever admit it.

Fat Panda 05-23-2014 07:25 AM

fact: every single person in the world is bigoted in one way or another

keep speaking the truth mr cuban!

dyna mo 05-23-2014 07:26 AM

He obviously disagrees with how the league is handling the Sterling debacle and is roundaboutly voicing his views on that. He can't do so directly, because he's an owner and has to toe the line else he upsets the remaining racists in the league, mostly blacks like lebron.

VikingMan 05-23-2014 07:31 AM

Why is the NBA so racist? We should have more diversity in regards to the players. I suggest a quota system so that more white, asian, and latino players are recruited.

State an obvious fact and it's news. Make a comment in the privacy of your own home and the nation demands action. Maniac kidnaps a few hundred innocent children and sells them as slaves and .... not even close to being such a big deal.

MrBottomTooth 05-23-2014 08:47 AM

He clearly needs to be banned from the NBA and should be forced to sell his team.

When I read the article I thought the same thing. You can call profiling all you want, but the truth is when you see a situation that doesn't look safe you avoid it. Doesn't need to be black ether; I was out with some friends this weekend when we came across white meth head tweaker and tried to avoid him.

CDSmith 05-23-2014 09:10 AM

That's the beauty of living in a nation built on the rights of the individual to having and expressing their opinion freely.

Too bad there is no such nation, what with all the cell phone squealers prowling around everywhere just waiting to catch anyone and everyone who has the temerity to do just that... voice his or her opinion.

"Free speech, as long as it doesn't offend anyone."

Yay.

I think a basket should be worth the amount of white guys the scoring team has on the court.

romeo22 05-23-2014 11:32 AM

SykkBoy 05-23-2014 11:52 AM

without googling, guess who made this quote?

"There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery -- then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved."

for the record, I googled to get the exact quote so as to not mis-quote ;-)

SykkBoy 05-23-2014 03:51 PM

The quote was by Jesse Jackson...

just some food for thought :)

Good for Mr. Cuban. Finally a breath of honesty in the whole bs circus. I love how some people love to claim they are not racist or bigoted. Delusional. It seems to be a natural human instinct to at least sometimes envy, belittle, criticize usually with no valid reason.

SekobA 05-24-2014 04:19 AM

he always say what he thinks. That's Mark!

It would work for a while; until everyone realized there would never be a 5 point basket.

It should be noted that the street he was walking down when he felt that way was not in Mississippi in 1958 either.

I don't know, I thought the current group of pet chimps they got out there make for a nice circus as it is.

I suspect the ongoing Washington Redskins debate will hit a fever pitch this upcoming season.

...............................

I'm far from the smartest person in any room but even I can sort out how bad Silver/the league handled this. Instead of putting out a fire, they fanned the flames and made it a wildfire.
