myleene 05-27-2014 09:20 PM

He wouldn't have made 50 cent playing baseball.

He selected his career wisely.

xNetworx 05-27-2014 09:50 PM

He actually looked embarrassed

what's with the commentator's pronunciation of 'just'? I thought that was for effect when I've heard it in films - that would drive me fucking mental if that's really how they commentate...

american tv in general would drive me nuts when i look at CNN. Hyped up presenters giving non-news all day long, guys with radio voices talking the way that commentator talks and all women have whiny bone-sawing nasal voices. Ugh.

edgeprod 05-28-2014 12:48 AM

"Been hit with a few shots, but I don't walk with a limp (although I sure throw with one)"

Bet that wasn't done on the first take. You don't get a second chance when throwing out the first pitch.

Captain Kawaii 05-28-2014 04:38 AM

He looks like damon wayans playin a twink and throwin like a girl. :1orglaugh

PR_Glen 05-28-2014 07:29 AM

I'm as big a baseball fan as it gets, i've never understood why anyone ever gives a shit about the first pitch of the game though.

That's American tradition in baseball.

It's similar to when the umpire goes "streeeeeeee-ike!"

It's hype, but it's part of what people expect and actually like.

Miguel T 05-28-2014 08:14 AM

Looks like he passed by a HUGE Baseball career...

NaughtyRob 05-28-2014 08:16 AM

Yeah it was actually started by an announcer / comedian named Bob Uecker

That kind of slang comes from the days when baseball and sports in general were not on TV but broadcast over the radio. The Announcers would do things like that to juice up the entertainment value. It's carried over to TV as sort of a cultural thing.

dyna mo 05-28-2014 12:05 PM

This must not mean the same thing in England as it does in America. No way could I put up with listening to that as part of standard commentary practice :helpme

Maybe he was on drugs, we all know drugs are bad for brain and brain controls your moves. Something was "out of the order" during that moment :)
