At least 1,000 migrants have tried to storm the border fence between Morocco and the Spanish enclave of Melilla, officials say.

Some 400 migrants - from sub-Saharan African countries - are thought to have successfully scaled the fence, which divides Africa from Europe.

Melilla is a major crossing point for those seeking work or asylum in Europe.

On numerous occasions in recent months, large groups have attempted to storm the 6m-high (19ft) border fence.

Together with a second Spanish enclave, Ceuta, Melilla is the European Union's only land border with Africa.

Funny thing is they cry about Gibraltar all the time.

But they will never hand those enclaves over.

I wounder if Spain will ever make a grab for it?

Those african dudes are shady as fuck. I've lived in Spain. All those africans do is sell drugs and counterfeit products on the street.

Because they cant get a job. When the building sites were employing, they work a shit load harder than the average Spaniard.

I lived in Malta for one year and it was the same story, the African guys would work their asses off on the building sites, no safety equipment, no breaks, they just worked day and night. There was a new office building being built right next to our office building, I could see the workers out of my office window, those guys would just work so hard, running from point A to point B to get shit done.

People I hung out with used to complain about them standing in the streets just outside of downtown, waiting for someone to come by offering work, I had no issues with them.
