What is a better place to live Los Angeles or Phoenix?

These seems to be talked about a lot, Phoenix area is the fastest growing city and LA has the most people moving there and out than any other place.

Phx is AWESOME if you are....
white
pretend to love jesus
aspire to drive an Escalade (which you will drive 35 miles on a freeway at 80mph to get to anywhere)
your idea of food: olive garden, texmex, subway, papa johns
you like the color brown, because everything the grows or is built is brown/tan/beige
hate obama & like to have your politicians embarrass the state regularly
like to get your car washed 2x a week to remove the inch layer of dirt
feel the need to buy allergy medicine in bulk
feel the need to buy ammo in bulk
8 months of the year the weather is unbearable
on the plus side: it's cheap as shit to live there, ccbill is there, a million golf courses

deltav 06-03-2014 02:59 PM

Clark's pretty much got it.

Lots to do in LA

mineistaken 06-03-2014 03:12 PM

From the drought thread:
https://gfy.com/showpost.php?p=20087967&postcount=21
Looks like Phoenix and LA already have too much people in terms of sustainability. Could you say both are not a smart choices?

AmeliaG 06-03-2014 03:18 PM

Los Angeles is pretty awesome. Lots to do. Gorgeous weather. Access to excellent food. Expensive for some aspects of living though.

InfoGuy 06-03-2014 03:26 PM

You probably don't want to live in LA.

Smog
Horrible traffic congestion
Earthquakes
Wildfires
Mudslides
High taxes

What's wrong with staying in Las Vegas?

Lichen 06-03-2014 04:07 PM

LA is overrun with illegals.

umm, been to Phx much?
The difference in LA they are seen, in Phx you're Escalade Truck drives into your gated stucco maze of cul de sacs so you can hide from them.(until whatever day they come to do the lawn)

Chris 06-03-2014 04:17 PM

Austin Texas hands down.

Austin, Seattle, Portland, Bay Area, etc - I'd take them any day over Phoenix or LA, or Vegas for that matter.

brassmonkey 06-03-2014 04:34 PM

valley of the sun!!

SmutHammer 06-03-2014 04:51 PM

Why are you choosing between those two places? I have been in the La. area the last month and not all that impressed. I'm looking at having a house built in Vegas (Henderson). La. isn't all that porn friendly anymore either :2 cents:

Oh, and what's wrong with Escalades?

scubadiver626 06-03-2014 04:54 PM

Go colorodo, weed is legal!

The Porn Nerd 06-03-2014 06:13 PM

Those are my only two choices? :(

Well, it all depends on how you define 'living'.

Sorry ...just saying that's the living the dream car in AZ. Usually comes with a Harley for the weekend ride to Scottsdale. Any giant pick-up truck or SUV would do..

oh and if I were to make fun of my beloved L.A. I would have said black Range Rover

Robbie 06-03-2014 08:37 PM

The way things are going with Los Angeles...I wouldn't live in either place.

xXXtesy10 06-03-2014 08:47 PM

LA is great for families!

venus 06-03-2014 10:36 PM

lived here in the phoenix area for 10 yrs now. some things that are guaranteed to happen on a weekly basis....someone shoots a cop or a cop shoots someone, someone goes missing hiking on superstition mountain. Not a bad place overall, when everyone is freezing your enjoying what they call a summer, when they are enjoying their summer...your cooking the moment you step outside. Summer electric bills are high, mine hit $600 a month in july...and its not hot until its over 110..

$600 a month power bill? What size house and and what temp do you keep it at. Most of our family is relocating to Phoenix from Michigan and we are looking to move out that way as well.

venus 06-03-2014 11:03 PM

my house right now is 2800 sq feet, but we have 14 ft ceilings, AC is kept at 73. 600 is the high, it starts going up, like may was around 300, june will be 400 or so, july right at 600, then august back down to 500...you could probably cut it way down if you set the AC to something higher..but I like my comfort

great buys on houses right now...I just bought a new build for right at $400k (after options/upgrades), its 3800 sq ft. won't be ready till September tho

Phoenix is where you should be

balint 06-04-2014 01:43 AM

The best place to live is in Hungary :D

Seth Manson 06-04-2014 01:46 AM

Why would you want to move to a city in a state with a state income tax?

I am ready to move from Vegas, been here 15 years. LA and Austin is pricey, SF, Oregon and Seattle is too cold and dreary. Prob Phoenix is the best per price. Solar panels will be a fast investment. It's has more solar panels than any other city as of now.

venus 06-05-2014 10:20 AM

I moved here from Vegas also

BareBacked 06-05-2014 02:15 PM

beach is only option

MediumPimpin 06-05-2014 03:08 PM
