Looking For Video Hosting

Hi,

Currently i have been working with a porn affiliate company providing
watchable video content to my users, these videos are hosted on the
affiliate companies servers so all i am doing is redirecting my users
to their websites at present.

I am currently cutting a deal with my affiliate company which allows
me to have better videos (longer length) but i would now need to
download and host the video's on my own hosting space. So basically
now users will log on to my site and watch the videos directly from my
own hosting instead of being redirected to the affiliate site.

I was looking for someone to advise me on the best solution for this?
VPS? Dedicated?

A little bit of information about the videos, one video will generally
be around 8 minutes in length and will be in MP4 format with a average
total size of 250mb. I will be posting about 2 videos on my site a
day. At present i get about 9,000 a month unique visitors and
obviously these visitors may watch multiple videos a day. Bearing all
this in mind i would appreciate it if someone can help me, if there is
a good service on here i am willing to roll with them as long as the
function, reliability and price is good.

Thanks

Currently your traffic is very low but you obviously will need much much more BW/storage than you do now. I would go for a dedicated server, just talk to some reliable host like Mojohost, Natnet, M3Server...

Storage will be your main concern. You will almost certainly need a dedicated server. Honestly I doubt with that little traffic you're going to be able to turn a profit after paying for the server unless you can manage it yourself.

First off compress the videos, 250mb is WAY too much especially for your low amount of traffic. Compress the videos to 50mb each then host them with a cheap $5/month VPS. You have a good offer in my signature.

You DONT need dedicated for that kind of traffic, just compress the videos or else don't bother hosting them yourself.

Exactly. A dedicated is really not needed.

I estimate your profit monthly to be:
Traffic only: 9,000 [visitors] x 1.5$/1000 [popunder revenue] x 0.6 [adblock correction] = 8.1$
Affiliate revenue: 9,000 [visitors] x 2% [click ratio] x 1/1000 [join ratio] x 30$ = 5.4$
Total: 13.5$

You basically have three options:
1) Fully unmanaged VPS without a panel (you would turn a small profit of maybe 8$)
2) Unmanaged VPS with CPanel or another panel (you would lose 7$)
3) managed VPS with CPanel (you would lose 17$)

(*) I didn't calculate other expenses or potential profit, but it should make it about the same.

These are estimates, but with your traffic if you can't do at least 2, you could be several months in the red while you build your traffic depending on how long it took you to get there.
