Michael Schumacher Out of Coma And Goes Home

:eek2

http://news.sky.com/story/1283224/sc...eaves-hospital

This seems bizarre, seems like everybody was writing him off now suddenly he's out of his coma and has gone home.

When you read the story it's far from what you were hoping to read.

To me it sounds like the family had the doctors bring him out of the induced coma and he's pretty much a vegetable and they'd rather have him at home where they'll try to rehabilitate him. :Oh crap

ottopottomouse 06-16-2014 03:54 AM

Not gone home - been transferred to a rehabilitation unit, although from personal experience you can get a place at a specialist unit but they need you there to properly assess whether they can make any decent progress so they can still spend the next three weeks deciding they won't achieve anything and move him somewhere else.

My numb one F1 racer was Barrichello, but when MS stopped racing i stopped watching F1!

Enough said!

I hope he makes it!

seeandsee 06-16-2014 03:58 AM

you can read lots of stuff in the "news"

mineistaken 06-16-2014 04:42 AM

Does that mean he is conscious? Can understand and react?

Strange, as I read last week that he is in a permanent vegetative state and was being moved from Grenoble to a care home nearer to his family. Totally contradictive news??.

MaDalton 06-16-2014 05:02 AM

he did not go home, he was transferred to another hospital for rehabilitation. so far we don't know in which state he is, it's been said he reacts and he can communicate with his family - which can also mean that he can blink with his eyes or move his head.

it's a big step forward but he's far from standing up and walking out of the room

but still better than some people on here posted recently that wanted to switch off his machines

Caldo 06-16-2014 05:36 AM

Hope he will fell better !

michael.kickass 06-16-2014 05:43 AM

Best news I've heard all weekend. Happy for "Schumi". :)

Choopa_Pardo 06-16-2014 07:02 AM

Still no word on his actual cognitive state, but this is still a big step.

Spunky 06-16-2014 07:08 AM

Hopefully he will pull through

The fuck does that mean ??

And yes, i hope it is indeed a good step in the right direction, and not a case of him being moved because there isn't much else they can do for him in the current condition he's in.

Time will tell. Fingers crossed anyway...

he is officially not in a coma anymore and been moved to rehab - no further words in which condition he's in exactly.

but this for sure doesn't sound like "there isn't much else they can do for him"

John-ACWM 06-17-2014 02:04 AM

Good news. I'll be happier when I'll see him walking and talking.

Theo 06-17-2014 08:32 AM

i hope he'll get well again, what a tragic story

Chosen 06-17-2014 08:46 AM

Good news :thumbsup

LeRoy 06-17-2014 10:13 AM

A bit of recovery but wow! When the story came out it didnt look good for him. Good news he's going home.

A former Formula One doctor has criticised the announcement that Michael Schumacher has emerged from his coma, warning that the 45-year-old is still unlikely ever to make a full recovery.
Dr Gary Hartstein attacked Schumacher's management over what he considers 'triumphal' claims, saying it was 'not news', and branding the announcement 'highly cynical' and 'almost certainly false'.
Kinda what most people have figured anyway.

Sad...

this is completely bullshit :2 cents:

MaDalton 06-17-2014 10:36 AM

seriously, what does that idiot think who he is that he can invent things like that

Penny24Seven 06-17-2014 10:42 AM

so nobody really knows anything for sure other then he is not where he had been for months?
