Kinda off topic, but business related.

My father owns a restaurant in a small town and hired a lady to run it. She lasted about a month before making impossible demands, talking down to other employees, and making it an unpleasant place to work. She also keeps hiring more and more employees, to the point where the employee payroll and food, is just barely covered, and there is no money left over for rent.

This lady was hired because she knew about vegan/healthy food, and the restaurant was meant to fill a void in the town. My father came up with the idea and the menu, she has just been cooking the food.

A little while after hiring her, we found out that she never lasts at her jobs, and always runs into some sort of confrontation with the owners after a few months and quits or is fired.

A few days ago she got into an argument over how the restaurant is being run, and how much staff she needs, etc. and ended up quitting. She was running the facebook page, which she took down, and now she is all over facebook and twitter talking about how she was wronged, treated badly, how her recipes are being stolen, and is pretty much out to destroy the business.

This is a small town where word spreads quickly, so if the town believes her side of the story, my fathers business is in trouble.

What options are available? I know I should get my father to talk to a lawyer, but money is very tight at the moment.

Thanks for any advice you guys may have.

1. Try and talk to her to get "it" resolved
2. Open a new facebook page

You always need to control your sites...domains, hosting and ins the case of facebook and Twitter being the main admin. Water under the bridge right now.

People talk in small towns. If he had a good rep before, some of that (if not all ) will remain, especially if she looks as if she is looking to hurt people. Have him friend who he can online, rebuild the page and be super positive.

If you had tons of money, a suit would be in order if he could prove her libel and defamation. Seems to me this is off the table.
