When I was a kid, we had sheep, chickens, rabbits and ducks. We ate them. All of them. We had horses, we did not eat them. Other people had cows, we bought their cows and ate them too. We had a dog, we did not eat it. But we ate the cow. I still eat cow. Often. I like cows. Sheep too... and I LOVE duck. Mmm chicken is good if grilled right.

China eats dog? Fine, they can't have my dogs (or I would end up in the dog house with the misses). Just like I am sure I can't eat the Indian-dudes holy cow.

I see no difference between animals breed to be food animals. Cow, chicken, dog, cat.... whatever. I wouldnt eat it myself, but I have eaten plenty of other stuff most people would be weirded out by. Horse, grubs, spiders, scorpians, snakes. Whats the difference?

Now that Earth resources become less and the number or total population increase, it is not a strange thing eating dogs. Problem will be when people will eat people.

if you kill an animal to eat it, i do not see an issue with it.
I have always thought that everyone should have to kill a cow in their teenage years, to gain respect for what they are eating.

I was just watching mine try to eat raindrops out of the air. If you eat a dog then you're not human, because they've been our partners and companions since we were running around in the woods thousands of years ago. What other tasty animal can you say the same thing?

I grew up with dogs, i love dogs.
I have eaten dog. I didn't like the seasoning, it was in a soup with sesame leaves.

All around the world the food is different.

Thats why I will never have a pet pig because once I got attached. I would never eat pork again. I love bacon too much. lol

IQ has nothing to do with it. I said dogs are the animal that have been right with us from our early times as a species. Maybe dolphins, or pigs, or even a deer is smarter. Who knows? But they're not the ones we share our lives with.

People want to stop this, but they are ok with the slaughter of other animals. Where people draw the line at what animals are or not ok to eat baffles me.

If I wouldn't eat my cat, then I cant justify eating any other animals.

Meat is meat. While I am a dog owner myself, and I find eating a dog or even a horse repulsive, other cultures do not draw that line. We eat cows yet other countries worship cows. Go figure.

I had alligator in New Orleans and I thought that was very strange. Tasted like chicken.

The Chinese eat everything and I mean they eat everything. Tigers are almost plucked out of existence they fish rivers till nothing is left. Most of china's wildlife has been decimated. It is sad because they leave a legacy of nothingness.

Other countries look at animals differently, of course. It might be perfectly ok to eat dogs in China...but it just tells us all we need to know about China. Same applies to that video a couple years ago of the little girl who was left in the street after getting her legs mashed by a truck -- with people walking around her like she wasn't there. We should be scared of China because of shit like that -- and the dog thing. They don't give a shit about the environment, they make shit products...what's to like?

Let them feast. Meat is meat. They eat cats too. And I say that say that as someone who has had dogs (and other pets) and grew attached to them.

China clearly has an excess of people. Clearly the next logical step is to harvest a certain percentage for of them for food.

They could start with the excess girls that they seem to not give a shit about.

They really need a good pandemic to help reduce their population by a few million.

Ridiculously hypocritical, yes. But we humans love our pets, and the thought of being cruel to them makes us go haywire. If I saw someone being cruel to a dog or cat I would really lose my mind.

It's the double standard I don't get. Cows are fucking cute and lovely as fuck. Pigs are much more intelligent than dogs. I just don't get the double standard.

This is just as sad as the dogs in cages.

Why is eating meat wrong? Our body and bone, tooth, structure is designed to do so? I get the immoral part, but the design needs what it is designed to do....I for one can not live on veggies, ill informed I know, just what my body craves as it was made to do?
