SEO Query regarding image blogs
So when you use them free online seo analysers they always tell you to add h1 headings and text content with keywords yadda yadda - my question is how does that work for just image blogs? Will they require text content to rank better or does Google recognize that they exist for images?
If this has been answered, please link the thread. I didn't know how to word this in a search. |

Google (and the other search engines) love text. They can not read images they just know they exist. So if you want to rank an image blog then you need to add text titles, captions and descriptions for the SEs otherwise they do not know what the images are about. hope that helps. . |

You can use an SEO plugin for Wordpress to clarify what your titles, descriptions and tags are.
There's a few of them around such as Platinum SEO Pack (very intuitive) and Yoast (very detailed). |
Thanks for the info

In WP, no you do not need to do the <h1>... That should be part of the template and the post title would be the title, However as far as just using an image and relying on just the tags, that I would not do. I would do an actual post about the image or the gallery that the image leads to. The SEs still love to slurp up the text. |
