Google Adwords enforcing new policies without warning!

What is wrong with them,

On the 16th they email everyone with this:
https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/6008942
which clearly says this will take effect in September.

A few minutes ago I started getting sites banned!

Policy issue: Sexually explicit content

You should never have thought porn would last on something like that.

.

sandman! 06-30-2014 10:55 AM

they have been anti porn for awhile now :2 cents::2 cents::2 cents:

PSD 06-30-2014 11:13 AM

They sent out warnings on June 5th that it would occur at the end of this month. ...

https://gfy.com/showthread.php?t=1142429

but I see how that page is confusing if you missed the original email.

They have sent out warnings...infact there was a thread on this very forum about that a few weeks ago.

If you think that's bad, wait until you see what's coming next :2 cents:

wasteland 06-30-2014 11:42 AM

From my keyword searches just now for pretty much any adult keywords, it looks like they've taken out the adwords listings for pretty much everything except "sex education"

I'm not in a position to go into specifics. I am sure when Google are ready to make announcements they will.

Even if the search returns a Nothing found. we almost lost one because the WP returned Domain.com/s/escort

and page not found. they had an issue with the search showing the word.

Apparently at first it was an issue that the person surfed for that word but we explained we had no control over what the surfers search. suspension lifted.

Yeah but then on the 16th they emailed more infos in which they referred to this page:
https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/6008942
which clearly says this was suppose to take effect in Sept.

Somebody at GG woke up this AM and decided to that he didn't care about previous statements and within a couple of hours has blocked about 80% of porn sites in Adwords. Should be 100% pretty soon.

I called them, of course the person on the line didn't knew anything about this. This company, the whole Adwords/AdSense branches mainly are a total disorganized junk.

PSD 06-30-2014 12:55 PM

yeah they are messed up, none of my ads are running, even approved ones, due to an account review or account suspension due to domains that got suspended for sexually explicit content for which I had ads which were linking to landing pages that had non nude images which I had previously been told over the phone were ok.

Why than even mention it??

seeric 06-30-2014 01:31 PM

When we originally spoke to the policy teams there, they swore up and down that they weren't shutting down adult, and asked us to add some new restricted words. Today ads disappeared. Typical though. No one over there will ever give you a straight answer, no matter how high you go in the food chain.

"When promoting adult content, you may not do any of the following:
- promote sexually explicit content"

So you can promote adult content as long as it is not adult content? :)

NewNick 07-01-2014 03:06 AM

I see adwords for "adult cams" and "phone sex", so they still have some cleaning up to do.

Because smart people will already see the writing on the wall and act on it.

Barry-xlovecam 07-01-2014 08:17 AM

AdWords new policies are a double edged sword ...

Please at least save the cams :)

ctggls 07-01-2014 12:53 PM

What about normal search results? Do you still see adult terms in SERPs?

The smartest people saw the writing on the wall a looooong time ago.

There's a vast difference between 'act' and 'react'.

BareBacked 07-01-2014 06:49 PM

All my ads stopped gone :(

Phoenix 07-02-2014 01:12 AM

if they do the same to the big tubes i have to think it is a good thing.
Maybe a slight distribution among the other major search engines will occur.

Could they be considering requiring some kind of adult verification before viewing adult search results?

CIVMatt 07-02-2014 06:14 AM

This is great news. Good. Also cams are next, fyi.

slapass 07-02-2014 07:00 AM

They seem to be realy enforcing it. I don't see ads on lots of keywords.

I don't use adwords anymore but please explain how a company like google becoming more puritanical by the day is "great news", or are you one of those pathetic guys who likes to see others lose something even if they personally gain nothing or very little from it?

They've been warning for months now. Btw, in case you weren't already aware, the adult industry is dead.

Fat Panda 07-02-2014 12:25 PM

Keep up the good work Google! Sales and serps just keep climbing!!!

Keep delisting the TRASH too!
