2010 Toyota Corolla S or 2010 Chevy Malibu LT w/1LT
I know, I know, not the two greatest car choices here, I'm no playa these days, ha ha, but I've got my gas hog Ford Expedition that I'd like to get rid of for some better gas millage in a car and looking now, I've found a dealer about an hour from me with these two options priced at a fair price and they're pretty comparable feature for feature and the millage difference is about 8k between the two. I did stop at their lot and check them out this past Sunday, but they were closed, so I couldn't actually try them.
I myself like the look of the Corolla S and like the fact that it's not so common as the Malibu and it gets 34mpg, which makes me wanna lean towards it. I still have yet to test drive them, I'm already approved for a loan to cover either and I guess that I'll know when I get behind the wheel of the car, how it feels to me, but I just wanted to get some insight from you guys, since you know cars and might have some experience owning either. They also have a 2013 Dodge Dart with only 10k miles that they might try to rope me into since it's only $1k more, but it's pretty basic with it's features. |
Chevy Malibu all day long.

I had a Malibu Maxx SS for a while. I loved that car.

Corolla 32
Dart 29 Malibu 26 I'd take the Malibu unless you don't care what the car looks like. Damn Toyotas feel so "plasticy" |
67% of Corolla S owners are female.

Get the Mali, bro. My Ma had that Corolla.
|
Corolla is the more practical buy
And lol gfy in 2014 |
Get the Toyota. It'll outlast 3 Chevys and 2 Fords.

Honda or Toyota :2 cents:

Thanks for the comments everyone, I appreciate them. Looks like it's a mix. As of right now, I've changed over and am leaning towards the Malibu. Tomorrow I go to do some test driving and choose which one I'll be driving home. I do feel like the Malibu is more of a car and being an LT with the 1LT options, it's got a few features. I just don't like that front end so much and it's pretty common, but oh well, it's all about having a solid car.

Throw some new wheels and tires on the Malibu. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Another one to look at is the Ford Fusion 4-door sedan, also rated at 28-29MPG

Times have sure changed on GFY.
Get the Malibu |
Why not buy a used car?
Go out and buy a nice used car, whatever you want. There are some nice BMWs and Mercedes on CL for a few grand, maybe a bit more. Buy it, bring it to your mechanic, have it checked out, fix what need to be broken and save yourself a ton of money. I did this with my truck, and in the past three years it's only had one problem - the radiator went, and it was all of $300. Easy. Quote:
