Right and left finally agree: Obama has checked out

It’s one thing if hardened critics like Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly ask whether the Obama presidency is “imploding,” as she did last month , citing a string of foreign policy debacles and domestic scandals.

Or if Republican lobbyist Ed Rogers says Obama “seems to have taken something like an early retirement,” as he did in his Washington Post blog earlier this month, finding that the president’s recent speeches reveal “a state of mind that suggests he has checked out.”

It is another, however, if the chief U.S. commentator for the Financial Times, Edward Luce, takes Obama to task, as he did this week, in an op-ed titled “Farewell to trust: Obama’s Germany syndrome.”

Veteran journalist Patrick Smith, who has written for liberal publications like The Nation and the New Yorker, also takes Obama to task for the German spy scandal and the insufficient response by American officials.

“I can think of two names for this,” Smith wrote this week in Fiscal Times. “One is ‘outmoded arrogance.’ The other is ‘asleep at the wheel.’ Whatever the moniker, some measure of incompetence lies behind it.”

When MSNBC anchor Mika Brzezinski interviewed Obama last month on the subject of Iraq, network commentator Donny Deutsch, an avowed Democrat, said, “I’ve never seen a less-engaged look in his eyes.”

Another commentator on that program, Mark Halperin, said that Obama’s answers on the Syrian situation were nuanced and accurate, but people expect more from a president than great analysis of problems.

“It’s up to the president of the United States to take some bold action to try to address them,” said Halperin, co-author of “Game Change,” the bestselling book on the 2008 presidential campaign, “and not just sit and say here’s why this is hard, here’s why this is hard.”

The average of current polls at Real Clear Politics shows Obama’s approval rating sinking to 41.6, from above 44 two months ago. More significant, perhaps, is that the gap between those who disapprove and those who approve has widened to 12 points from just 7.

That is why one Washington insider publication, The Hill, ran a story this week under the headline “Obama the pariah ” and an unambiguous lead:

“Democrats in tough reelection races have a blunt message for President Obama: Keep away.”

Obama’s approval ratings are in the basement and show no signs of improving, so Democrats are keeping their distance. On the stump, in campaign ads and at fundraisers, Obama’s absence is increasingly conspicuous.
Democrats are voicing their displeasure with his policies and campaign advisers are telling candidates to avoid being photographed with him, so as to deny Republicans effective visuals for campaign ads.

“It’s a no-brainer,” said one operative who works for a senator up for reelection in 2014. “The second term has been a bit of a disaster, his approval ratings are the lowest of his presidency and Washington is in disarray.”

Yes we are all painfully aware of the facts, but the Obamatrons and liberal partisans will not be going down without a fight.

Expect to be slammed by them for daring to post what the rest of the world already knows.

After all... you're only posting negative facts because you are a racist and as such you should be silenced for the good of "all"

well. I know history to an extent. I know of past issues that overcome obamas snafus. Obama isnt responsible for the worst presidential decisions in history.

therefor I think your words are just a spout of frustration and anger.

Cool how we both have opinions isnt it :thumbsup

Early retirement is still better than a congress that hasn't done jack shit in the last 5 years. I mean really in the last 5 years the only thing the house of reps has done is bitch about Bengazi, Obamacare and a imagery IRS scandal.. Oh and now they have started a lawsuit to sue over something they tried to stop in the first place which will do nothing but waste tax payer money.

Even if Obama only managed to send the order to take out bin Laden, he's done one thousand times more for this country than what the Republicans have done in the last 5 years.

Immigration is the hot topic right now... Congress has a bill that the House is refusing to vote on, and while the President is trying to do something and is asking for funds to do it, Congress is "dicking around" and meekly discussing cutting the funds requested in half.

Meanwhile, they are having their 10th or 11th investigation into benghazi that will tell us exactly what we already know.

It's quite funny how that works.. Way back when Bill Clinton was pres the right was screaming and yelling about immigration.. When Bush became pres, we didn't hear a peep about immigration until it was election time 4 years later. Then Bush was pres again and once again not a peep about immigration until 4 years later and it's suddenly a national topics again.. Then Obama wins and suddenly we need to build a wall across our boarder.

Not once in the 8 years prior when bush was the guy in office did we need to build a wall.. Nope only after it was Obama in office. Now yet another 4 years later it's the end of the world once again because of immigrants.

Immigration is just the 4 year itch that comes back into play every time it's close to an election.. Meanwhile all those farmers sure don't seem to be complaining about illegals when it comes time to harvest..

you make this issue sound like Obama's plan is a the correct one, it's not. Spending billions of dollars on illegals is not the right answer. Besides, the only reason we don't simply send those illegals back is due to a silly law signed back in 2008 re: sex slave trafficking.

If it weren't for that law, we could just send those people back, but instead of dealing with that law, Obama wants billions to support those people here- NO.

Actually it's congresses job to deal with laws. If in fact it's a issue of a bad law, why blame Obama, when Congress should be in action to fix the problem then send it off to Obama for the stamp of approval?

They said the same about him after the first debate with Romney, that it looked like he wanted no part of a second term. He probably is burnt out and counting the days until he's a free man.

It is a horrible job these days, I can't imagine anybody wanting it and by the caliber of the candidates there are few who do.

He was probably silly enough to think that maybe he could help change this country. Sadly he likely under estimated how much hate is out there.

I could understand the hate if he clearly did a bad job from the start and eventual resentment led to hate of the man, however there was hate right from the beginning, which shows this country will not soon fix it's problems.

We need to build a wall across our borders no matter what. We have a method for people to become US citizens; People need to obey this law not just enter the country illegally.

With that said... Bush, shortly before he left office (as our economy was collapsing) signed a bill demanding these people get a hearing - which is what the problem is now. Seems they do this in DC all the time - they sign a bill but don't fund it. Great, now all of these people cannot be deported until after they have had hearings. Being as they didn't give anyone any money to make this happen, basically all of these people are let go into the general society and forgotten about. We have a bill in Congress that the House refuses to vote on, and instead of giving anyone any money to do anything about this issue Congress wants to talk about it.

You already see what's happening here.... The Republican party is going to refuse to deal with this until the last possible moment and then say "The Democrats failed" and then "We just voted on a bill to take care of this problem". That's bullshit politics.

Fix the problem now.

I didn't blame Obama for the bad law, I said his plan is based on the bad law. I don't disagree with the rest re: congress but this shit is not mutually exclusive, i.e., it's not congress or Obama, it's congress and Obama. He simply signed the bill, as crokett pointed out, this bill was initiated where it should have- in congress, specifically in the house of reps by cali rep howard berman.

Bush had nothing to do with it other than signing it, which a president is typically obliged to do.

We still have some burnt scraps of the bill of rights left, (although not much), and they are working to remove those once and for all. The "Hope & Change" was a message that there is "hope" to "change" the rate at which things are happening and complete the agenda. The agenda has been in the works for a very long time you know. It's quite close to the endgame now. (they are in somewhat panic mode now.. too many people are becoming aware. They can marginalize us when it was only a few screaming the truth, but the tide is turning now.)

In a nutshell, we've been thoroughly sold out to China, our manufacturing is fucking gone, most of our rights have been traded for a police state where you can be disappeared, beaten, imprisoned, or even killed by government goons on any given Tuesday and no one will bat an eye, we have a standing army (DHS), total surveillance (NSA), Obamacare is firmly in place, Agenda21 & the EPA is stealing land and turning us into serfs, the Fed's been renewed, cashless society is around the corner, and now the flooding of illegals into the country... next up: Economic implosion (and / or EMP), and fucking bread lines. Obama has advanced the agenda further than anyone. He has been a very successful puppet.

Well more of the point I was getting at, is Congress has no right to blame anyone. They have the ability and the power to create laws to fix the problem. If the president refuses to sign it or vetos it then he can be blamed.

Meaning it's kind of pointless for Republicans to try to blame this mess on Obama, when clearly they are doing nothing to try to fix the issue and are actually trying to make it drag on turning it into a political circus.

Walls that keep people out, also keep people in. Can you name any country that has built a wall, that has not turned to isolationism and strict control of it's populace?

Israel is about the closest you get to being a non dictatorship and has walls built to keep people out/in. Do you think the walls solved their problems? Clearly the current news shows they have not.

A wall doesn't solve the issue with illegal immigration, it just adds about 10 mins to the travel time, maybe less..

blame is one of the problems plaguing us today. Placing blame does no good. People also get sidetracked playing the blame game. those *natives* migrated here as well and wiped out a shitload of themselves, not to mention burned down the entire fucking continent, the majority of the remaining were killed prior to the united states even being the United States.

Moreover, the expression you use is 200 years old and outdated, not to mention there's a legal way to entering this country. The expression does not pertain to illegals.

Well if no one is blamed, then no one is held responsible. This is something I always notice as a argument from guys on the right. They will blame Obama on everything possible, but soon as something is shown to be wrong with the House of Reps for example then it's.. "well both side do it" or we shouldn't "blame because taking sides is the problem".

Congress is paid to do a job, if they are not doing their job then they are the ones we blame. Their job is to create laws, be that fixing broken ones, getting rid of them or creating new ones. That is their job. If the immigration law is broken, then it's congresses responsibility to fix it and then the president's job to sign it into law.

We allready know who to hold responsible - our fucking government. They are responsible, it's that simple, finger-pointing not needed. Avoiding the blame game isn't exclusive to repubs, proven by the fact I am not a right winger or a repub.

52,000 children alone have recently flooded across the boarder.

Spending per student:

Let's say $10,000 per student per year. That comes to $500 MILLION per year just for that recent group.

Then you have to factor in all of the welfare benefits for them and their caretakers...... All while millions of Americans are currently living in poverty and don't need this competition for resources.

No shit, you come to that conclusion all on your own, or did someone help?

Here's the thing, my opinion is shared with many other people and they are in the majority, so Go Fuck Yourself asshat!
