Anyone been watching F1 this season ??

Only halfway through the season, but already this has been one of the best seasons in many years for me. Racing on the edge from the 1st lap till the last.

That race in Hungary yesterday had 4 cars all battling for the win right up to the final lap. crashes, safety cars, rain, overtaking on a track which is usually difficult to do so, insane team orders (which were thankfully ignored by Hamilton). So race of the season so far for me!

For Lewis Hamilton to start from the pit lane and still get on the podium was just insane. Especially after spinning out on the 1st lap and losing even more time. His car has had all the problems so far while Rosberg has had hardly any mechanical failures.

No race action now for a month but looking forward to the 2nd half of the season !! :thumbsup

yep - so far quite decent - even when the cars sound like vacuum cleaner now

I wouldn't totally count out Vettel yet but of course Rosberg would be also fine with me ;)

You think Vettel could still win the Championship ??

i think Red Bull was usually better in the second half of the season

but i have to admit, the chances are very very small this year

so if i had to put down some money, it would be on Rosberg

the Hungarian GP was my favorite race of the season so far. Final ten laps were excellent. All three drivers on podium were brilliant!

evy97 07-28-2014 11:46 AM

Unfortunately the Mercedes cars 2 seconds a lap faster than any other car but it's still better than Seb Seb Seb Seb...

Jel 07-28-2014 12:28 PM

been sleeping ok this year, too much so if anything, so haven't tuned in.

2 Mercs out in front sounds boring, but it's been anything but.

The fact Hamilton and Rosberg have issues with each other helps, plus the fact the rest of the field have produced some amazing scraps, with Alonso, Ricciardo etc providing some great overtaking wheeel to wheel action the past few races.

Raikkonen has been the biggest disappointment so far... :2 cents:

Elli 07-28-2014 01:29 PM

I really like Hamilton, but it seems like he's turning into a whiner like Webber. Ugh.

georgeyw 07-28-2014 02:43 PM

They ruined the cars.

for example this weekend when he was whining about Alonso

This is probably the best season in the past 2 years by far.

I'm pretty pleased to see Williams doing well, they found a treasure with Bottas. I think he's a talent that needs to be watches.

I feel sorry for Grosjean this season. He's a talented up and coming driver stuck with an ass car. Maldanado, however, is a menace on the track. I think it's a good thing he has a shit car...could you imagine him in a mercedes or even mclaren?

I really feel sorry for Hamilton and his string of bad luck. While he's been whiny, at least we're not getting the temper tantrums that we had the last season or two with mclaren. I think going from pit to 3rd was an amazing drive, it ranks up with Button's drive from dead last in Canada a few years back.

Alonso hasn't been as whiny this season. That's been nice.

I'm curious to see how everyone solves their engine problems for the 2015 season.

Oh, and it's really nice not having to hear the german anthem (or see the finger) every fucking race.

Darkcrni 07-29-2014 01:32 AM

Was before, now not so much.
Good race in Hungary.

Kimi has been very unhappy with the car from what I've gathered. He might leave F1 after this season.

During the last race there was a brief sound of the engine note from the safety car (V8?) as it passed. It sounded better than the F1s it was pacing!

dirtymind 07-29-2014 06:55 AM

i can say it is an interesting season, with lots going on. Not all for the best but it keeps me coming back for more F1

Choopa_Pardo 07-29-2014 06:55 AM

Those V-8 powered AMG Safety Cars sound INCREDIBLE.

Been an F1 fan for over 16 years now, you are talking shit, Lewis Hamilton is far from a whiner, he calls it like it is with no bs in between like the other drivers seem to do. You figure he is in a German team with a German driver who has been there for more than double the time he has, he see's the issues like his engine catching fire, his brakes failing on him twice, would you be happy and sit and say everything is rosey? No way!

Lewis Hamilton will be World Champion this year, Rosberg isn't a racer, he is a good driver but when push comes to shove, he doesn't have what it takes. Perfect example after the safety car on Sunday, he couldn't get by Vergne and let Alonso build up a 10 second lead. Meanwhile Lewis Hamilton had made up 17 places by the same time, overtaking a Red Bull, a Ferrari, two Force Indias and the rest of the crappy cars. Rosberg is due some bad luck, when he does experience it, Lewis will comfortably win the championship.

My prediction is Hamilton will win the 5 out of the last 8 races.

Scott McD 07-29-2014 08:37 AM

Only if they give him a reliable car.

Which i doubt...

Absolutely Hamilton does call it like it is, as you say. But I got tired of watching the sad puppy face and his "oh, we really should have done better" lines last year. He is a fantastic driver, as he's proven. It's good to see him in a good car with a good team behind him. Rosberg is a good driver too, but I'm not sure if he has what it takes to hold onto that Championship position through the rest of the races.

(I made my first comment before I watched the Hungarian race. I watched it last night and thought that was the most exciting race in a long time! Action-packed! And goooo Hammy! :) )
