Do you consider your site an asset increasing in value?
We see the ubiquitous posts of slow sales, but (rhetorical question) don't you see your site as an asset increasing in value?
Yes, sales are a factor if you were to sell your site. And yes, sales hopefully are greater than the cost of running the site. But what about the overall site valuation considering domain age, increase in traffic, Alexa ranking, etc.. When we see posts about sales bad or good, shouldn't we also consider the value of the site as an asset? |
Sites find their levels. Brands can rise and fall. When it comes to paysites sales are really what it's all about, and rebills. Traffic and Alexa are great but it's REVENUE that determines (most) sites' value.
True, some sites are brands with intrinsic value, or value alone as a "brand", meaning it could be nurtured/resurrected in differant hands etc. So, not to be a lawyer here (which I am not), but it depends. LOL Sometimes sites have great traffic because of being an older domain but there's no gauruntee that traffic could be successfully re-directed to make a profit. So again, it depends on the sites we're talking about here. |

If a site is updated regularly with unique updates, then it's value should increase

Yes, sites should age like wine, not like people. |
